[WIP] Weapon Addition and Replacement Suite (WARS)

Sounds like you only have a bit more work to do on the AR and Mini-14, and the USAS, but the rest of it sounds about complete, more or less. Other than the replacers, anything else for sure gonna be in the first version or are you not yet certain?

 

That sounds about right for the replacer assets at least; there's still all the stats and whatnot to do. Besides the replacer weapons, the rough plan is to flip anything that needs it (so the Handmade AKM, Lever Rifle, Tommy Gun and R700 Hunting Rifle, off the top of my head). I may do the full replacer for the Tommy Gun while I'm at it, like I said earlier.

 

I'd also like to get a pump-action shotgun in there since it was such a glaring omission, and probably a couple of anti-materiel rifles (as in the OP) since I'll be removing the .50 BMG rechamber options for the R700 and Pipe Rifle.

Are you gonna do right-handed versions of the pipe guns?

It's sort of their "thing" that the pipe weapons were made up as they went along, so being left-handed on top of everything else doesn't feel quite so out of place there.

 

Also I may just replace the semi/auto pipe guns at least with Sten guns anyway.

Okay, finally - after a bit of a delay thanks to my recent time in hospital, here's some new Mini-14 related stuff:

 

- Mini-14 11

- Mini-14 12

- Mini-14 13

- Mini-14 14

- Mini-14 15

 

First are a couple of shots of the newly-added LPC Laser Sight. Mesh and textures (for the mounts too) are mine from scratch. It was inspired by its use in Beverly Hills Cop II.

 

I'm also starting to give some of the weapons in WARS tactical lights. Also seen in these shots is a SureFire G2 - mesh and textures by Yogensia, with some minor changes by me. (Also I made the mount.)

As a bit of trivia, "LPC" is Laser Products Corporation... which later became SureFire.

 

Quick question antistar, how many weapons do you think you can "hypothetically" implement? I mean, you seem to have quite the tall order.

 

Besides that, I think you can port millenia's Beretta 92FS and the M1911 from the fallout NV nexus

That's a really hard question to answer. It depends on what the weapons are, how many attachments/variants I want to do, what resources are available (if any), how much work each will take to implement, how long I'll want to work on WARS altogether, etc.

 

Some of the things I want to do with the M1911 and M9 may dictate what resource/s I use for them. For the M1911 I want it to be possible to use a certain combination of attachments that will result in it looking like this. (It's one of the reasons I made the LPC Laser Sight for the Mini-14; I plan to adapt it later.) Similarly, I want it to be possible to have a "basic" Beretta 92FS, through a Beretta 93R (with folding stock), right up to this ridiculous monstrosity. This possibility is actually one of the first things I thought of back when we were first seeing what the weapon modification system in FO4 was capable of.

 

Lots of 80s action movie references... I guess because in these cases they're still retro-futuristic, even if they're not from the 50s.

I mean ... the weapons are clever

For example: MOD WARS vol1 package M4A1 (AR15) while finishing the other weapons of the mod?

I have too much mono of this mod

.223 Pistol (Tentative... but with the Fallout history and the Blade Runner references in FO4... basically I'm very surprised Bethsoft didn't include this gun themselves. Sorry; "That Gun".)
Barrett M82 (Since I'll be removing the .50 BMG mods for the Hunting Rifle and likely the Pipe Rifle, dedicated anti-materiel alternatives are needed.)

Being a particular configuration of the Pipe Gun, it would be replaced by the Sten Gun if I go ahead with that. Not really planning anything beyond that.

Huh; hadn't seen that before. That's pretty cool. Its meshes and textures wouldn't... mesh well with the rest of WARS though - or even other parts of the M1911 itself as I'd do it in WARS, most likely - so it's not really suitable, unfortunately.

This has been asked before and the answer is still no, sorry. Even if the AR-15 (or the Glock or whatever else) was finished, releasing mods is a lot more work - ongoing work - than most people realise, I think. It would delay work on the rest of the mod. Also WARS is an overhaul; releasing just part of it wouldn't work without even more additional work to make it standalone.

They're still possible and still subject to change. ;) As you might guess, the first list there is made up of weapons that are more likely to make it in - largely because I either want them more or there are resources available that will make them easier to do.

Given there's only so much time and effort available to you, do you plan to put out some kind of framework or set of guidelines for making weapons compatible/consistent with the WARS weapon mod/damage scheme? For instance you've got no room on your list for a FAL (G3 and M14 pretty well cover that niche), but I'd quite like one and would probably be willing to kludge a .esp together if the option were available.
