guindiaye
Hi, First thank for the awesome modders comunity. I enjoyed the mods of this game for many years and i'm not the kind of man that take the time to write somthing about it.So here i would like some help and that is the occasion to say it. About my question, i reinstalled Skyrim again to remake a modded game. This time i lean how to use TES5 Edit to clean mods. So when the game finish downloading, i run LOOT just to see the files that was supposed to obviously be clean. .. but not, LOOT tells me that there are ITM, UDR and navmesh already... Is this normal ??? or i did something wrong ? maybe my ancient game have still some files in (but i delete all, i'm pretty sure of that) So i run TES5 to see what the problem is and here are the errors for Update.esm : i have many error like this one :<Error: No strings file for lstring ID 00004C20> i seems to fix it when i replace it with the name of skyrim.esm or another esm (DG,DB) The point when i start over again was to have clean files, but now i wonder what the tools tells me and what the offcial game has at first. Sorry my english, it's not my first langage. and thx for help for the ones that will take the time to give some.
IsharaMeradin
The Update.ESM and DLC ESM files are not broken by default but they are not 'clean' either. If you will be playing a non-modded game, there is no harm in leaving them alone. If you will be playing a modded game, the UDRs in the ESM files will cause an issue if a mod is used that references a deleted object. In order to "play it safe" it is suggested by LOOT that these ESM files are cleaned. Should you choose to clean them, be sure to run Dawnguard through the cleaning process twice as there are some records that for some reason won't be "cleaned" the first time around.
