Combat mechanic overhaul mod : where to find ?

I guess you're wrong when you say that the double-blocking animation doesn't exist. When you have a torch in one hand, you can use it to block and bash: a skilled modder could use this animation with whatever weapon you hold in the left hand.

You should probably re-read the above posts, nobody said anything about missing blocking animations.

Im looking for a mod that allows you to block with dual wield , I know this is asking for much since there is no animation for it .

;)

When I said "I guess you're wrong" I was refering to the OP, sorry if that wasn't clear!

Also, making an offhand weapon block instead of attack defeats the purpose of having a offhand weapon. may as well just use a shield and get armor rating out of the deal to boot.

Again, I guess we misunderstood each other.

What I am suggesting is, while keeping the vanilla dual-wielding system, you just add the possibility to block with the offhand weapon (without denying the possibility to attack with it) and simply adapt the torch-blocking animation for the offhand weapon.

That way, you keep the possibility to attack with both weapons, you add the possibility to block with the left hand weapon, and you already have the animation for the left hand block.

EDIT: I'm thinking, if the focus of such mod would be realism, why not making the block a skill-check with a bit of randomness? In real life, you can't block a full-strength warhammer hit with a sword unless you're super strong and super skilled in blocking.

When dual-wield blocking, the game could compare the attacker one-handed or two-handed skill with the defender blocking skill, adding a randomness check, determining if the block was successful or not.

Like this:

if (attacker one-handed skill / player blocking skill)*randomness > 1 ==> block failed, you take full hit and you stagger

if (attacker one-handed skill / player blocking skill)*randomness < 1 ==> block successful, you take only stamina damage but no health damage.

I haven't done mathematics in years so I'm not sure the formula is right, but I wrote it in order to give you a general idea.
