Hey, maybe instead of the normal zombies, they can be draugrs? Makes sense, and there will still be the massive hords on the surface that massacre everyone!

According to my pagan friend, there's a day where the norse pagans would lock themselves up in their homes because they believed the draugr would rise from the dead, so draugr would fit perfectly for something like this.

 

He also mentioned there being a type of 'lesser draugr' which were similar to the shambling dead we know, so people could also be turned.

uuuhhhhhh.... I'm talking about the common draugrs that you find in the dungeons in Skyrim. Draugrs are undead Nords, so it makes sense to make them the "zombies" of the zombie apocalypse mod.
