All I want to do is add some storage chest to my houses. Is there not a way to just "addtoplayer" and place a chest were you want it.

Storage chests will easily be addable to your house with the release of the Creation Kit. It will simply be a matter of locating the containers section, choosing which kind of chest you would like to use(asthetically), renaming it to something unique to you, and adding it, through an .esp file to the location(s) in your house(s) you would like to use it. Of course, these instructions are based off of the Construstion set from Oblivion, but I cant imagine how it would be much different for Skyrim.

If all you want is storage space complete a few main story misions untill you are invited into the underground room beneath the "sleeping giant inn" in riverwood and use the crate down there. also theres a bed down thier you can use. and a blades one handed sword down there which has served me well.

You can always open your console and spawn a chest with player.placeatme.

Thanks for the help guys... my problem is I got to much stuff. Like all players I can not pass up taking just about everything I come across, like who needs three bows that trap souls. After finishing the main quest and having all but two or three shouts left it's about time to start really living in Skyrim.
