edk72
Alright, I built a smokin PC a few months ago, in part to get ready for Skyrim. I've got my programs and OS on an SSD and most data on my older hard drive. But, because my documents directory is setup on the hard drive, that's where Skyrim is storing my game files. As I'm getting farther along, I can feel the slowdown that the drive is creating in dealing with saves, changes, etc. Is there a registry setting or something that I can edit to tell Skyrim to look at a folder on the SSD for the game files? ClayboTGW
you can take earlier saves and move them to a bak up folder... I do this all the time I'll thin out my save game folder and move the other save to a back up folder on my external hardrive incase I need to pull them back. edk72
I appreciate the response, but that's not really the problem I'm trying to solve. I'm looking for a way to have Skyrim load the same games from a location other than it's default under "My Games". As the save file sizes are growing, I have deinitely seeing a slow down in the loading and transitions times. I'm not getting the benefit of the speed of my SSD because I can't get Skyrim to look to my C drive instead of my D drive to get the files. ClayboTGW
I'm not sure if you can tell the game itself to save to another location.. Bethesda's games have always wanted to send to the My Doc/my games folder as far as I can tell.. Maybe some others have sovled this problem.
