After a long Skyrim break i finally got my head together and started playing agin. I found out i was almost at the last quest in the questline: Dragonslayer. Where i had to slay Alduin. So i did, after that i was thinking there would prob be some celebration for me somewhere. But no, nobody knew i killed Alduin. Atleast almost nobody. Disappoints me a lot as after killing the world eater i would expect to get some kind of celebration... What do you guys think?

It was that way with every Elder Scroll game. Something to expect, but I was hoping against hope they would do it differently this time. It's as if they were afraid to have a grand finale.

So you killed the great-granddaddy of them all but yet dragons are still ravaging villages and cities all over Skyrim. Perhaps once you have killed them all there will be reason to celebrate. Besides, there is nothing wrong with being one of the great unsung heroes; history will eventually get around to recognizing you... maybe ;)

In Skyrim, bad news travel light speed. Good news is like no news. Everyone knows when you've been bad, like ESP, but you can be the Archmage of Winterhold and still have someone you know and visit frequently say, "Hey, if you're interested in magic, you should check out the college in Winterhold."

But it's such a big game and the main quest often doesn't even feel like the main quest. I'm not sure it's really even necessarily a bigger deal than all the others in the minds of the Skyrim characters. I'm not sure what would have happened to Skyrim if the problem in Winterhold wasn't taken care of, for example. And there's still things like the Thalmor who want to end/change life as we know it in Skyrim. My character is starting to think these end of the world scenarios are overblown anyway and really just mean Skyrim, not the rest of the world.

Am i the only person who is releived by the fact we didn't get another "N-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-Nerevarine!" fiasco? I'd much rather being largely ignored by the general population, but remembered in history than having to put up with the entire population of skyrim suddenly developing a studder. It would be nice to walk the middle ground for once.

I'm not sure how many people actually play on with the same character after beating the main quest. I tend to create a new character once I've done that because I never can find any reason why the Nerevarine/hero of Cyrodil/Dragonborn should carry on and not enjoy the fruits of their labor. It just feels empty because I know, there's probably just another cave I haven't cleaned of Draugr or another guild with a few cleaning and fetching quests and a few levels to be gained.

I'm also not the one who joins guild simply because they are there. I enjoyed the Morrowind system where you had to meet certain requirements and not being able to become archmage without casting a single spell.

There's something like overdoing the sandbox idea. And with the non reacting NPCs, the guards pestering you with insulting comments, the game goes to great lenghts to not make you feel important or even part of this world. I came to expect that from Elder Scroll games and the only reason why I still buy and play them are the modders, who take care of these issues sooner or later.

I always hate on Skyrim how the dragons are so easy to kill, yet one simple falcon punch from a troll and your so dead that you're loading the save before last!

Other than that I love skyrim. I still find myself selling off my most powerful armour, throwing money into respawning chests and using deprecated weapons and armour just to add to the difficulty. I also love the new skills and the entire region to walk through and get massacred by giants and mammoths find new treasures and locations. And being a werewolf is so much fun!

I look forward to their next game, I still play Oblivion excited for quests i've already done!

Take the deadly dragons hard mode mod on master and you will have some sort of challenge. At least till you got 3 resistance sets against ice, fire and lightning. Oh, and Alduin probaly wipes the floor with you.
