Brotherlobo
Greetings. I am new to Skyrim and very new to modding. My problem/question -- when the Nexus Mod Manager scans my system, it only finds Skyrim and not Skyrim Special Edition. Considering I only have SSE, this is odd. Whenever I try to point the NMM to the Skyrim folder (example: programfiles(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim) the NMM states - "path does not contain game EXE" I'm open to suggestions. Thanks. GeorgeLF
Hello Brotherlobo: I believe i have a similar problem. I have Skyrim SE installed in my computer, and works flawlessly. When i open Nexus Mod Manager, it recognizes the directory of the game, but does not load the mod manager window. All of my other games work just fine, just skyrim that i have this particular problem. Could be maybe the Beta upgrade, i don't know. If anyone have the answer, please give as a hand.
wfandrews
My NMM had no problem finding SSE and I have updated NMM a couple of times since then with no problem. The only difference between us that I can see is that I have Steam installed under under users/my name/Steam. Installing Steam in program files can lead to problems as Windows is rather touchy about making changes to program files. My OS is Windows7 HP SP1 and if your OS is 8 or 10 it might make a difference. Do not know if this will help you or not but is all I could think of that would be different. Sorry I could not be of more help.
GeorgeLF
Hello Wfandrews: I have Windows 10 so maybe thats why. But only the new skyrim has this problem. I have fallout 3, New vegas, Oblivion and even the older skyrim was working just fine. Maybe a future update from the Nexus mod manager will fix this. Thanks for your support, much appreciated.
Brotherlobo
I too have Windows 10 installed (duh - I should've mentioned that in the first post). And, don't get me wrong, SSE worked great on my system. I would just like to 'tweak' the game a bit with some of the amazing mods out there. Vattende
which version of NMM do you have ? If an old version, this may be your problem. But also like said, the steam/skyrim install location may be an issue on some systems. I had to change the location the in the past for oldrim myself, i remember.I would try a new reinstallation of NMM to see. When you lounch it, NMM search your games first, so you will see if Skyrim SE is in the list.
