  1. Maybe take a look at that https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/20748 Didn't try it yet with Frostfall, but could be an option.
  2. I agree, the number increasing number of esp can quickly become a problem. I avoided some mods i liked just because they needed lot of patches for the mods i had. More esl may indeed be a solution in some case, and i checked your links with thanks and interest. An other mod i found helpful, if not to reduce the esp count, but to figure out in an easy way what patch to get. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/18369
  3. Do you have any facelight installed ? May sound a stupid question, but some times we forget so small things. :ermm:
  4. I simply set Skyrim to update only when i launch the game, and launch it only trough SKSE, and Vortex. Update is waiting since several days now, and all my other games are updated daily, why would i not update the others. I play also other games on steam, so i'm daily online on steam. I didn't have any trouble with steam updating since, it's still on the waiting list that's sure. I made a back-up of my exe just in case, and because Steam can be a beast. I will update my game when i'm sure it will not break the current version of SKSE, and here i have different feedbacks now. I'm patient.
  5. If you start just modding, you need start slowly, and chose one by one your mods. Like said in previous post, there plenty of great guides and tuto out and on You-Tube, but also on Nexus. Of course, you will see big modlists, and lot of choice. Look at the vanilla game, then ask you what you would like changed, what you would like added, like some armours, weapons. Again, start at beginning by checking your pc specs, some mods and modlist can be heavy, so make sure your machine can handle it. Update and windows and drivers, then a very important step, Clean the masterfiles ! This is a must if you want run a stable game, ever more if you want mod it. Some mods require SKSE, some don't. So again a choice, But let's face it, SKSE adds lot fun and make it possible to run big and amazing mods. Chose a modmanager after your preferences. But all these infos you will get in nice guides, tutos. Skyrim has a big community, so there is lot content. Take your time, test, and test again, and most important, have fun !
  6. Yes, indeed, Discord is a great way to follow the progress for all two, and Skyblivion, and of course Skywind. I'm waiting so hardly for Skywind, and realy also hope there will be a SE version. I loved Morrowind so much. At this time it was such a great thing and new experience to me. One of my first open-world i could room around like i wanted. I started it over and over, played it so many mal with all races and many different characters. It was an amazing time! So play again this great game with new graphics, and all, it's maybe lot of nostalgia, but i'm sure i will love it again.
  7. All two are great, it's more a matter of taste i would say. I use all two, depending the build i use in my playthroughs. I don't still feel the same, and all depends the character i want to create, that's part of the fun ! Actually i'm using unp with ECE, but who knows in my next playthrough ? ... Having the choice is great, and i love change my look, and create new characters. A male bodyslide would be of course a great thing, i'm sure many would be more than happy if this is released ! Beeing a women irl, i'm mostly play female, but happened to me in the past creating male-characters for the fun, and still was bit upset how limited it was.
  8. Yes, Racemenu is great and a must have for character-creation. I'm still waiting for the release. I miss the ability to save my characters, face-genes like i did in Oldrim. But i can understand that a such tool need lot of work. In the meantime i use ECE in my playthroughs right now, it's doing well for me, and has some of the so needed functionatilites and feature. Export doesn't work yet nor.
  9. simply still back-up your game, so if something realy is going wrong, you have still a save copy ! I have mostly different character, and of course with different mods, the safest way is still to back-up a skyrim copy, or some important folder. Have a big folder on my gaming ssd for skyrim SE tools, saves and so on still. Like you said, sometimes it's fun just to give it a try. Have fun ! :geek:
  10. no, i don't think they are affected by mods like that. It's player only, or only visual, like a cape for example. I think this would be way to complicated and heavy.
  11. Like many, i needed and still need time to get used to the new layout. But i'm not here to discuss that, the world is changing, sometimes we like it, sometimes less. That's life ! But i saw one issue that bothers me today. It's the "blocked tag" function. I don't block lot content, but i was uesed to block "translations" to show up. I mean nothing against transaltions, they very fine, but when i'm looking for mods, no need for me to go through 5 pages of the same mod translated in several languages. So it looks that this function isn't working more. I have plenty of mod translation showing up each day again. PS: not sure if this is the best place for this problem. But there several treads around discussing the new layout and Nexus site, most long and still the same old songs.
  12. All depends, all followers are not same, nor are all days and our feelings. There are days i love my followers, there are others i could kill them myself. But i like and ingame, standart followers, and so called standalone if it's the look i'm after in that moment in my modding-experience. Of course still using AFK or EFF with them, which avoid also some troubles. But i must admit that sometimes they are all a pain ... The bad bables are what i can stand hardly, this with- or without RDO. That's why in many gamestart i use Meeko, or modded version of this brave dog. With quiet dog of course ! Just started a new game with "The People Of Skyrim", a realy great mod, adding also some nice integrated followers. Running it now alongside "Immersive Citizens" (with a parch of course), and about 80 others nice mods. For instant all seems fine, and i'm curious testing also the different followers here. But like said, all depends, my current game, my modlist, and my current mood.
  13. I would say, SE is much more stable than LE, no doubt. Also it's looking bit better at the start than LE, so i "need" less mods to make my game looking nice, and the way i want it. There are also more and more great mods out for SE now, and SKSE in alpha is out, and is doing well mostly. I missed SKSE lot in the beginning, and did a break, and came back for it i must admit. I had a heavy modded Oldrim in the past, and it looked very pretty to, no doubt. And there is also a difference if you do screen-archery, or a simply want play the game for the game. For my part i played Skyrim so much, so many times before it was on steam, long long time ago. :geek: Now i play modding the game, rarely go over lvl 20, and start over with new ideas and mod-lists again and again. I don't like the CC side and all these money-stuff. But we have an awesome and great community, and i love see what new mods i can try and test now. Yes, SE is a step more, a bit better, and more stable, with lot of good memories in the good Oldrim of course.
  14. For instant i use SKSE with ECE and lot other mods. I don't have special troubles. Still testing mods, but i add them carefully, not to forget that many mods needs a new game-start to work properly. I know, ECE isn't perfect now, and may have some troubles, but often a choice. Like you said, it's hard to make a face when you're used to the old Race-menu. To much sliders, and functions still missing. So ECE is a pretty alternative in the moment. I think a big problem at the moment is that many mods are poorly ported to SE, with wrong format, or not or only partially converted stuff. So adding mod by mod, and testing a lot is a good base for a stable game. Often i read, you can use this or that Oldrim-mod without problems, just download it manually and install with NMM. Then when i look at the dixit mod there are meshes and all in it. So i would say, i right conversion is realy necessary, also resaving esp etc. But yes, still looking and waiting for a good Race-menu, with all the possibilites we was used in Oldrim.
  15. was still wondering why there wasn't squirrels in Skyrim, that's sure ! Had ducks and swans in my oldrim, but i would love some little squirrels.
