i too, collect swords, well, i have many of one kind, in world war 2 the japanese used their samurai swords to kill people, on each kill the sword has done, there would be a marking, sumbolising one of the kills, when my grandfather came back, he had 3 of them, one of them had 8 markings, the other two just had 5, the one with 8 is hung up in my room at the moment, and apparently their worth a fair bit

I have a Spanish steel Excalibur. It's pretty nice for decoration, but the metal is very soft and wouldn't lat a minute in real combat.

I also have a couple colored glass daggers. They aren't very good for anything. I just hang them on my wall next to the Excalibur, and they look rather nice.

Okay - here goes my collection (I'm a medievalist even in real life...)

Oh My god - named because it is 6' 2" from tip to pommel - and that was the reaction of the first 5 people I walked by while carrying it at a medieval event. It is a hand made copy of a swiss landsknechte sword. It was forged/made from the leafspring of a truck. I hacked at a 1966 Dodge Dart stationwagon and cringed when it went 3/4 of the way through the front cornerpost. Never has been sharpened, and still will cut paper.

Mousekiller - A toledo steel blade from the late 1800s - still with full metal.

Wiseguy - a modern sword that looks impressive

Oldone - a real sword from the 1600s

Broomstick - a thin sword made to the specifications of a musketeer epee.

Crunch - a flange - (a type of mace with screwdriver-like points around it designed to puncture armor) It actually destroyed a 12 gauge steel cold rolled medieval helmet.

Along with a ton of knives, medieval helmets, armor, a real english longbow, and lots of other neat stuff.

I remember my plastic sword six years ago. It was Carnival and I went to a bar dressed like an arab fighter. My friend was a viking and the other one was a knight or a crusader, something like that.

Well, we all bought our plastic swords, which were kinda neat.

Then we drank a couple of whiskeys, a couple of absynts, a couple of tequillas, a couple of beers and started playing Shakespeare.

I remember I died that day because my sword turned itself into little plastic pieces when I attacked my mate's stomach. "Die, sarracen dog!", he said, and ploft! I never saw my sword again.

I never bought a sword again either (but I still drink a couple of whiskeys with my buddies).

I've got a Sting. Off ebay for 20 bucks, too. At first I figured it was going to be a cheap knockoff but was pretty surprised at the quality. The writing down the blade is all etched in, not painted like some versions, and it's sharp with some weight behind it too. Looks good on my wall. This picture was taken of it when I was living at the dorm. Notice the heavy duty lock on the door.

I tell you, though, if I had the money, I'd probably buy Glamdring, or maybe the Witch-King's sword. And while I'm wishing, Aragorn's hunting knife, and the ring of Barahir, too.
