lizardnexus
Hi! *noob wave* SO. I felt it was time for me to renovate the Lakeview Manor basement to my liking. I copied the cell, then went about rearranging everything, got it to where I want it all to be, saved, enabled, loaded, and .. notta. I think I'm ignorant of how to tell the mod to make the game make the changes. All of the extra junk about it being a hearthfire BYOH cell can be dealt with later, I just need to know how to get the cell replaced. Thanks! Edit: While any information in the mean time would be greatly appreciated. I considered that it might be dependent on a game where the basement hasn't been built yet. I'll give that a whirl while waiting for someone to bite over here. Edited December 4, 2016 by lizardnexus
wizardmirth
I'm going to say you need to relink the door from the main house and point it to the door in your cell. And then maybe you have to go through any upgrade features you're keeping and check them back in at the workbench script. And I honestly have no idea how any of that stuff works yet (the upgrade system) but I was planning on trying to learn for another mod I'm thinking of doing. lizardnexus
Yea, my problem was the door links. I took it for granted that I "copied". Thing is, I can't seem to get the marker in the 'new' basement.Weirdness has followed. The new basement isn't generating a teleport marker.. I'm wondering if in my case if I would even need to have duplicated the room I'm working on? Assuming the edits were all done within the active mod plugin correctly, wouldn't that work as desired? Duplicating, in retrospect, seems like it would imply the end result of an entirely new area, not a replaced area. Am I correct here?
wizardmirth
Duplicating a cell means its a new area, not a replacement - not unless you re-link the original outside door to the duplicated cell door. So yes, you could just edit the original cell. Alternatively you could also create a new door for you new basement and keep them both.
lizardnexus
Is this how dirty edits and ITMs are born?
wizardmirth
You're talking accidental vs intentional changes. Your best bet is to go ahead learn, have fun, and make a mess. Then when you're done you can run your plugin through TES5Edit SE and clean up any of those you mention.
