Walk speed

I know there is a lot of nice speed mods, even one who let you configure your own speeds. But this thread is to ask for a mod that makes walking speed (and all the speeds of the game in general of humans) of NPC the same as the PC...

Is so unrealistic have to run every 5 meters to catch up a NPC that you are trying to follow walking behind him... Also looks silly.

The mods of speeds makes the NPCs and PC equally fast, so the difference is the same at long, there isn`t a way to make that NPCs at least walk at the same speed of our PC?

I was thinking about this the other day. NPCs generally walk faster than the player and run slower. I think the logic of this was to ensure that the player and NPCs could catch up to each other, particularly during quests where they must followed or protected. However, in practice, it's an immersion-breaker that forces you to follow walking characters in short sprints. I'd ideally like to see athletics reinstituted once the construction set comes out. Acrobatics too, while we're at it.

By my observations, I *think* walk speed is determined by character height... thus a Nord walks considerably faster than a Breton. What ever gets done to work on this issue would have to deal with that, I think.

I think you may be right, I messed about with heights and follow distances in New Vegas and there does appear to be a link between size and speed.

Well, just for giggles I spawned and set a chicken to setscale 10. I thought it would walk/run the same speed as when it was small, but this was not the case. In fact, it started running so fast, I had to jump on my horse and chase after it. To my surprise, that huge chicken outran my horse! The only way I caught up to it was because it stopped to peck the ground. I also did setscale to my horse and sure enough, the smaller I made my horse, the slower it was. The larger I made my horse, the faster it was.

Eh, I try not to over think it. It's mildly annoying, yes, but if you have *too much* immersion, there's folks out there who will fall into the game mentally and never come back. Think of it as Bethesda's sense or responsibility to remind you you need to pee every few hours. ^_^
