Is it possible to make a silver battleaxe? I haven't gone down the Smithing road much yet...

Unfortunately there are only two types of silver weapons - Sword and Greatsword.

Of course, you can make any weapon silver using CK (note that silver effect is a script, not an enchantment).

a silver weapon is pretty much useless in the game if your plan is to forge your own. As all crafted items by far surpass vanilla found items, you could make one to your liking then enchant it.

Under Enchant, you can rename an item, say a Ebony battleaxe (or iron or steel or, or) and name it : "xlr8film's incredibly awesome, mega killing, epic thrashing, SILVER battleaxe". Then you would have a useful "silver" battleaxe with up to 2 helpful enchantments on it.

Not quite true you could name it "xlr8film's incredibly awesome, m". the enchanting system has a 32 character name limitation.

I have found another item that seems to have a scripted "enchantment" on it. The "Blooded Targ", which is a gnarly-looking shield with spikes. Its effect "bleeding damage after bashing" cannot be unenchanted and you can put two additional enchantments on this shield.

Also, I am not entirely sure, but I don't think the enchantment on the "Gloves of the Pugilist" can be learned, either. Never tried to enchant those, but I would guess they work in a similar fashion.

On the other hand, Mehrune's Razor's effect also seems to be scripted, but it has an (infinite) charge and cannot be enchanted further.

I still have Nettlebane, but have never used it... If the above is true for it, I am going to start using it in my offhand instead of the Blade of Woe.

Valdr's Lucky Dagger works the same way, I think. +25% chance to crit steel dagger? That you can ENCHANT? Yes please.

Well, and then of course there's my own: http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=13804 :P

But basically the short story is that silver can work as a third "enhancement" because it's a script, not an enchantment. You can do the same for any other weapon of your own, by simply attaching a script to it in the construction kit. So you can put the silver effect, or a bleeding effect, or whatever you wish on a weapon, or even several of those at the same time, and it can still take two more enchantments.

Also, the "especially effective against undead" text does not really come from the silver effect, but is simply the weapon's description in the construction kit. Most weapons don't have one, the silver weapons do. If it bothers you on silver weapons, it's trivial to make a mod that removes that text. Just select everything in that text box and delete it, then save.
