As the top-end n00bily-n00b-n00b of the forum as of today (January 6th) I have a few questions:

1. What does the AI distance do exactly? One source says that it reduces processing time for NPCs that are closer to you, huh? Does that mean that NPC's farther away take more processing time? I don't quite understand that, it isn't clear. I never got around to trying the different settings but I have a pentium 4 2.53 gigs, is that easily enough to drag it to the max without loss of performance?

2. I don't quite get willpower and 'ability to resist magical attacks'. Does that mean that a certain percentage of the magnitude of a spell is resisted (like you take less damage) or does that merely increase your chances of getting the "You resisted magic" message that I've only seen pop up on occasions when struck by a scrib's paralyze ability?

3. In what way can damage endurance or damage personality spells affect enemies? My thoughts were that damage-personality on merchants would allow you to buyer cheaper and sell higher (after you use a calm spell, I presume) and that damage-endurance would make enemy armor less effective against physical attacks.

*Addition* Oh, and how come there is only one skin for the forums available? The one called Hardwire(Import)2. I just want to change it to some background and font color thats a little less stressful on the eyes.

i think ai distance is how far away animals appear but what u said may be right it doesnt hurt preformance either way max it

willpower increases magicka good for mages and it does only affect a percentage of spells like once in a while

endurance makes them slower and not able to cary as much and intelligence decreases magic ability so they cant cast asmany spells

i have no idea on the last part

but welcome to the boards

Umm I thought intelligence increased magicka.

And doesn't reducing strength (to lower maximum encumbrance) or speed slow enemies down?? And no intelligence only refers to your maximum magicka.

I was asking about damage-endurance because it all it mainly determines is your starting health and your health gain per level, so I figured it was too broadscale to really do any good to individual NPC's.

yeah it pretty much is endurance is mostly for bare knuckles cuz your endurance goes down...... it should tell u though

umm their fatigue goes down when using hand-to-hand, not their endurance. However, endurance partly affects your maximum fatigue so I guess throwing some damage endurance at the enemy followed by flying fists is about the only use of that ability. But overall, it isn't very profitable I would guess.

Now I have questions regarding the forums, what are those HP, MP, and EXP meters below my name and, well to be more clear, how are they different and what causes them to increase?

The best spell for beginners is paralyze target not touch

it helps when u can get away

other noob hints dont wander far from the towns incase u get introuble run there

and dont worry about being a noob

i convinced my noob friend that there was a secret island that u could swim to if u swam strait south for three hours

k, firsttly when ur endurance is damaged you cant carry as much because the amount you can carry gets lessened, same with strength.

Now the reason that doesnt work on NPC's is because they dont carry much, mostly only what they need.

Resist magic does not decrease how much damage you take only that magic sometimes misses, unless you have it at 100%

Now your second question is answered elsewhere, please use the search button in the top-right hand corner of the screen before posting, do not forget to put it on all forums, and more than 30 days back. thankyou

BTW, spam is when you say something that is not worth saying and has nothing to do with anything and just saying "yes" and "thanx for the help" that is spam ppl

Well, just to give you a clear (and hopefully correct) answer :P

1. I'm not sure, I would imagine it means how far until NPCs realise you're there. Like initiating battle, or saying hi, etc. The further the distance, the further away you can be for them to notice you maybe?

2. AFAIK it increases your chance to get the "You resisted magic" message and nullify the effects of a spell.

3. Damage personality I would think you're right, Damage Endurance however I believe would lower their maximum fatigue. Which wouldn't be much use really, unless you were doing hand to hand combat :P

4. I don't know why there's only one skin, there used to be others but just recently there's only been one. Go figure

5. The HP EXP MP thing has been answered elsewhere, use the Search feature ;)
