Solgath
hey all, trying to get SKSE working, files are all in the right place, skse loader.exe is running as admin and no matter what i do, run it via skse loader, run skse loader via NMM, i can't seem to get SKSE to work right, typing GetSKSEVersion does nothing, says script not found, and skyUI complains that its not installed, here is the SKSE log to see if there are any problems and my pc runs Win7 pro 64 bit SKSE runtime: initialize (version = 1.4.2 030A0000 01CCC7D432152572)imagebase = 00400000runtime root = h:\games\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\plugin directory = h:\games\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\checking plugin h:\games\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\\gibbed_interface_extensions.dllplugin h:\games\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\\gibbed_interface_extensions.dll (00000001 gibbed's interface extensions 00000002) loaded correctlychecking plugin h:\games\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\\TESVAL.dllplugin h:\games\steam\steamapps\common\skyrim\Data\SKSE\Plugins\\TESVAL.dll (00000001 TESVAL 00000002) loaded correctlyinit complete
MShoap13
You're the 2nd or 3rd poster I've seen who has a log file that states everything is fine, but the console and plugins don't seem to be working. Reading your post however, made me wonder if Windows UAC is somehow playing a part in this. What directory is Steam (and therefore Skyrim) installed in? If it's \Program Files\ or \Program FIles (x86)\ this could certainly be the problem. Here's my general post on UAC: If you're on Vista/7, Steam (and therefore Skyrim) is installed in the default (C:\Program Files) location, and you're having problems with replacers or simply mods (plugins) not working at all, even though you've activated them in NMM, or mods refusing to deactivate, even though all of their files have been removed, then you most likely have a UAC problem. It is possible to turn off UAC though it's not recommended for the vast majority of Windows users. To get around UAC without turning it completely off you'll need to move Steam to a location UAC does not affect (C:\Games\ is a commonly used location). This will most likely break any 3rd party utilities such as NMM as it will leave old registry keys behind that point to the location you originally installed Skyrim in. If you come across this issue, you'll have to uninstall Skyrim, clean the old registry keys, reboot, then reinstall Skyrim. I personally recommend using Revo Uninstaller as if you uninstall Skyrim through it, it will automatically scan for and ask if you'd like to delete old registry keys. If you're interested in keeping your old mods, config files, and/or saved games, tips found in Bben's Oblivion Reinstall Procedure work for Skyrim as well. I'd appreciate it if you'd let us know whether or not reinstalling to a location that UAC doesn't affect resolves your issue, assuming that you have Skyrim installed to the default directory. Solgath
well if u look at where it says i have it installed its not default location, nor do i use UAC, so yeah, not a UAC issue :P
Solgath
sry to double post but i wanted to bump the thread with new info, turns out the problem with SKSE is coming from Radeon Pro, any one got any ideas how to fix this so it works with radeon pro? i mostly use radeon pro to improve performance when running skyrim. be nice to be able to use them both. MShoap13
I'd be sure to let the SKSE dev team know about your issue with running SKSE and Radeon Pro simultaneously. There's contact information on their website, and probably in the readme for SKSE as well. Exactly what changes are you making with Radeon Pro to improve Skyrim's performance, and could these changes be setup on the driver or hardware level? Solgath
only thing i'm getting radeon pro to do atm is set the TESV.exe to high prority when running, found it improves performance majorly, and thats just set via RP to run when the TESV runs. hmm, turned off a few things and now it seems to run fine, i think having RP run the oblivion crossfire profile was causing some issues, i'll do a few more tests and report back. ok more info, seems having RP run any oblivion profile be it the AA comp or Crossfire tweaks, cause it to stop SKSE from running properlly, not sure why, but i have other setting running and SKSE works fine. MShoap13
It's good that you narrowed down the issue, you should still let the SKSE team know about this as you aren't the first person I've seen post here about it, and they may be able to do something on their end that allows SKSE to run properly with any RP settings/profiles.
