Outfit Request

It would be cool if someone could make a female version of Father's lab coat, or a business woman / Institute director outfit. Crimsomrider has attempted to make something like this already, but it was never released, on Q5 of the FAQ it is stated why. I haven't seen any other outfit like it yet. This is what it looks like.

What I want t o know is how do I get that sitting animation for my characters? ...

Anyway, you could try the 1950 Feminine Outfit mod, as it has a female Fathers Lab Coat variant with shorts and tights/heels.

Or you could see if this will work for you ... I made it ages ago, because I also did NOT like the way Bugthesda made all the male outfits female. I LIKE feminine clothes like skirts, tights and heels on women's outfits!!!

It's in a file called FemFather.rar. (the other files are just a quick retexture I did for the stockings mesh, used in the 1950's Outfits mod.)

Edit: Attached a screenshot montage. It has a few minor clipping issues in certain poses, but that's pretty standard for any Bugthesda game, although the cloth physics (such as it is) still works on the coat as well as can be expected. Also the outfit doesn't have any underwear, 'coz that seemed a little superfluous.

I wonder if it would be possible to add a "mod" tier onto gear which allows you to change its "gender" style. Not sure if that would play nice with resulting model changes, though.

Why? Because the option to force equip male NPCs with miniskirts is fabulous.

The only way to do that is to re-make the F-emale mesh around the male skeleton/body. Otherwise you have some horrific animations and clipping issues. (that's if the game would even load it?) Several modders have already done some edits to allow male characters to wear some "female" outfits.

I guess? I was thinking more like when you make Preston wear the red sequin dress. Then charge at a super mutant with a baseball bat.

Well the "Father's Labcoat" outfit worked fine for me in BS/OS. Provided you tick the little box to copy the physics data from the original, it copies it all over to the new mesh. The back of coat flaps around when waling and running just lie it's supposed to, and it doesn't cause any skeletal errors I could see. Maybe if you use the 'Copy Bone Weights" in OS, it might screw up the physics, but I don't know the workflow of others, I only know what I do (or don't do) myself.

As I mentioned, you can never fully get rid of clipping issues when using layered outfits, because of the limitations of the game engine, at least not without having huge gaps between the layers, which just looks un-natural.

I'll take a look at the standard Labcoat if I can get my almost dead PC to be stable for few hours.
