Gardevoir332
I have no Idea why this is happening, but its mostly Texture mods, or mods that don't have an esp. Like Pretty combat animations. They aren't activating. I will install them, but when I launch the game they aren't active in the game, and when I go back to the manager they are disabled. hard8
Do you have the line bEnableFileSelection=1 in your SkyrimPrefs ini file located in C:\Users\User\Documents\My Games\Skyrim Special Edition under [Launcher] at the bottom of SkyrimPrefs ini? [Launcher]bEnableFileSelection=

wizardmirth
Sounds like a admin/permission rights thing possibly. But you give too little info. Are you using NMM and LOOT or what? What OS?
DaHunterPunter
Alright, based on the information that Gardevoir332 provided, I believe I'm experiencing the same problem, or at the very least something similar. What's happening is that when certain mods are installed via NMM they will appear to install and activate initially, however, upon starting the game or restarting NMM it is found that they have deactivated themselves. Attempts to reactivate them all end in failure, and neither starting NMM with administrator permissions nor Hard8's suggestion fix the problem. Neither does fully deleting and reinstalling the mods in question, NMM, or Skyrim Special Edition. There were quite a few mods that exhibited the problem, as I recall, but I can't remember most of them after the several full reinstalls of the mods/NMM/SSE that I've done, but the ones currently giving me trouble are Total Character Makeover by Scarla, Achievements Mods Enabler by xSHADOWMANx, and LeanWolf's Better-Shaped Weapons SE by LeanWolf and masterofshadows. With some mods I can circumvent the issue via a manual install, but LeanWolf's Better-Shapped Weapons requires either NMM or Wrye Bash, and I have very little knowledge of Wrye Bash, so I'm forced into a bit of an impasse. As stated above, I am using Nexus Mod Manager. I also have LOOT installed, and have used it in the past. My OS is Windows 10. This is the information that I can think to provide off the top of my head, but if there is something that you need to know that might help you solve this problem that I haven't provided, please feel free to ask. I'll try to answer any question you may have. Hopefully this is indeed the same problem that Gardevoir332 is suffering so that we can both be helped. ValdornSr
Having similar issues with most of the texture mods. I have win 7 Ultimate, NMM, Loot, older I7 PC with XFX R7970 Black edition overclocked 3GB graphics card. NMM been crashing, sometimes it won't even start, and having to reinstall/reactivate mods after restarting NMM. Uninstalled and reinstalled NMM several times today. I have deleted all prior mods and started again with downloading some of the top downloaded mods from the Nexus Mod site using the NMM and still having the same problems with most of the texture mods crashing. My PC handled 255 mods (over 2.5k hours playing SKYRIM) using Wrye Bash, TESEdit5, BOSS, and NMM. I never had the problems I am dealing with now. Getting very frustrated with the current version of NMM, Skyrim Special Edition, and Bethesda.net. I cannot even get 40 mods to keep working right with TESEdit3, LOOT, current NMM, and SKYRIM Special Edition. About ready to go back to SKYRIM and forget about all this new crap. It seems Bethesda doing everything it can to keep SKYRIM Special Edition mod free (just my personal opinion of course)!. 12GB installed memory, Samsung SSD 850 EVO 500BG, and 7.4 PC assessment rating. My rig is fine for playing SKYRIM Special Edition. It's the getting the mods to work on it I am having the trouble....crashing, freezing, or just plain won't start.
