Is it time to jump ship?

Been playing and modding Skyrim for years on PC. Now that Skyrim SE is out and it's had some time to gather mods do you think its time to make the switch?

I enjoy stuff like Apocalypse spells and OBIS in fact I'd say those some of my favorite types of mods. Is the Skyrim SE mob library even close to having something to that level yet?

I also hated fumbling with ENBs all the time and SE's better graphics look like a godsend.

Racmenu/ECE are also really important to me.

If you want to have mods like racemenu, that require skse, you should maybe wait till it's released.

There are already a lot of great mods, but the skse based ones are still missing.

The developer team is working hard on it (you can look into the SkyrimSE forum where behippo sometimes posts updates on the development status), but it will still take some time.

RaceMenu and ECE will need to wait for SKSE. A lot of great mods have made there way to Special Edition already though, it's quite surprising. Take a look.

Hi

I only stopped playing skyrim because my HD died. It looked a lot better than my SE dose now.

In the old game I could run ENB at 60fps at 3440 x 1440 resolution. So far I get 30fps with ENB on SE. That my change.

Basically it needs more resources to run.

I used ECE in the old game & use the ECE head in the new one.

I am planning to rebuild my old game & run both Skyrim & Skyrim SE. If enough mods that I really need are ported I will abandon the old game. At the pace things are moving it may be a year or two.

F.Y.I Facelight has been ported over. One more step in the right direction.

Later
