mfree80286
Now, I'm not talking about premade graphics here, I'm talking about a blank sign.. just a white box with a border would do. When you click on it, you get a text box. Type what you need in this text box, accept, and you have a customized sign that can label rooms or point you to the right section of a large interior. An offshoot of this would be a bulletin or chalkboard that would hold any text you like. A secondary offshoot would be a computer printer that rattles off a note saying whatever was typed in the terminal to which it's attached. That could come in handier for things like identifying provisioners or possibly as a 'calling card' signifying you've already visited an area or checked a container. teslashark
...Just use the existing neon signs, you can mod smaller neon signs anyway.
cartman1975
There was a mod for paper labels which you can stick on containers and walls.I used this mod and added my own text with gimp to label my ammo containers. There is an empty template included. But it was not so easy to place them on the containers, so i made this mod for a nice and clean labeling: Learn how to apply your own texture on existing labels and signs. It is not that complicated. Once installed and everything in place, it takes a few minutes and a restart to get new labels in the game A mod the way you described it will most probably never be released. TontonCactus
Such a mod would be great! Unfortunately, I'm afraid Cartman is right: there are other way to do it, either with existing stuff or as suggested by adding your own text to existing mods. There are paper labels with letters too (I think they came with one DLC, don't remember which one), so you can write whatever you want, but it needs "Place everywhere" to be resized and placed exactly where you want, and it doesn't need electricity like the neon letters. However, it's very difficult to place correctly and it's one letter at a time... Another offshoot (but I'm not sure it's even possible) of this would be a spray paint so you can tag everything (like in Counter Strike, if someone remembers...) either with pre-set paintings of with hand written (or stencilled) letters. So yeah, even if there are alternatives, I'd love such a mod too (O: Cartman, if you have some hints or maybe if you know some online tuto where I can learn how to apply my own text on tome object, it would be very helpful) Edited December 10, 2016 by TontonCactus
Ferlith
As mentioned, there are several methods of producing custom text already in the game, although all of them require you to assemble it out of individual letters. Contraptions Workshop has marquee signs (under the power section), and Wasteland Workshop has neon lights and paper labels. (Sadly, the paper labels are very small and don't snap; happily, there's a mod to fix that.) I fully support having more options for custom text, though, even if it's just additional alphabets. The only mod I've ever seen add one is DDProductions' Craftable Letters and Numbers, which I believe is now only available as part of his All-in-One.
