hsynhkn
I know there were some topics about that but I see most people consider this as "Hardcore Mod". Can anyone just focus on these 3 facts? (hunger, thirst, sleep) There are lots of recommendations I see, but I just want to add: -Pass away when not slept.-Raw meats have to be cooked. If not, they lower hunger but even maybe lower health, too.-Increase amount of meat you collect from animals. Instead of that maybe you could increase effect of meal for hunger but you must eat everyday.-Because of the scarce of empty bottles (reserving water) and plenty of wines, ales and meads, thirst should be considered as drinking alcohol. But if you drink too much alcohol, you will get drunk (unable to run, blurry view and increasing sleep can be effects of drunk) That's all I can think for now. If anyone have ideas like these, please share.
Kiemenbeisser
That's a good idea! But about drinking: does Potions also count as a thirst killer?
JanusForbeare
A couple of notes: -Insomnia will not kill you in and of itself. Studies show a link between hours of sleep per night and overall mortality rates, but that can be attributed to the drain on your body's resources caused by lack of rest. Unless the army has you locked in one of those torture chambers where they blast Metallica 24 hours a day, you will eventually pass out and get some much-needed rest. -Alcohol is not a replacement for water. In fact, it reduces the production of antidiuretic hormone, a chemical that allows your body to reabsorb water. This is part of the reason that the bathroom at your local bar is always such a mess. A beer might quench your thirst in the short term, but a mountain-climbling, dragon-chucking hero is going to need water.
hsynhkn
Sorry for bad English. I mean "pass out", "fall asleep"... Kiemenbeisser I don't know. It depends on potion's taste.=) And you're right about alcohol, but there's no reserved water in game. Let's just say mod gives you an empty bottle to reserve water, then you just have to fill it from rivers and maybe lakes. I'm not sure but it can cause some trouble. Hmm, maybe even melting ice?! Ok, that's too much. :whistling: Either way, we should honor the name of "Drunken Huntsman" with some Honningbrew Mead. (not pass away, pass out  Edited January 2, 2012 by hsynhkn
OriginalkiltedFrog
Right now, a mod like this is a must have for me. Skyrim, with the introduction of their cooking system (from Fallout 3 and NV, I know) just leaves so much to be desired. There is zero need to acquire food in the game, yet there are so many food and cooking options available. Basic Primary Needs, a mod by Maskar for Oblivion, did a really good job of incorporating the need to eat, drink, and sleep. The mod wasn't perfect, but added a lot more to the feel of adventuring, with detriments for being hungry or over-tired. The only problem with his mod and incorporating it into Skyrim is the disappearance of attributes, but I'm sure something could still work. Hunger could affect health regeneration, combat damage, and possibly carrying weight. Thirst could affect magicka regeneration, spell cost and/or damage/duration. Sleep could affect stamina regeneration, power attack strength/consumption, and carrying weight (if not affected by hunger). I think this would require a purchasable sleeping bag that can be used anywhere, since some caves and ruins are large to explore and time can pass pretty fast, with no places to sleep. Also, a water canteen would definitely need to be added, with the ability to find and purchase more. With a core system in place, later on more food items could be added, such as meat from wolves, horses, saber cats, etc. The only trick would be scripting it all to work effectively without hitting system resources too much. Not to mention balancing out all the food and drink items to apply appropriate amounts of points towards hunger and thirst. Also, some form of tracking would need to be easily visible without breaking too much of the immersion factor. I know it can all be done, but obviously will be far easier with the release of the CK and other tools similiar to TESEdit, Wyre Bash, and the like. One of my first posts on the Nexus forums after Skyrim's release was bemoaning this very fact. Considering that NV shipped with a hardcore mode, you'd think it would have been fairly easy for Beth to port the system over to Skyrim. I was also thinking about how cool it would be to incorporate a temperature system into Skyrim; I'm thinking some sort of meter that must be carefully monitored and regulated to prevent death from exposure. Various types of clothing could have an effect, as well as environmental factors, physical activity, and potions of resist heat/resist cold. Combined with well-tuned hunger/thirst/sleep mod, this could revolutionize Skyrim's gameplay. Edited January 2, 2012 by JanusForbeare
hsynhkn
Exactly. I create new character, I just want him to wander around but walking every corner of Skyrim without sleep, hunt or drink is ... You know... It would be better to enjoy Skyrim with these necessities. Even if you don't have any quest to do, you still need eat, drink to stay alive.
Dubnoman
I had another idea for such a mod. Make it so that our characters can drink fresh water from rivers, lakes, and streams, too. Maybe if they go to the water with a tankard (mod it to be equitable, perhaps), then they can get water and drink that way.

I like the tankard and drinking from rivers and such ideas but as an alternative if that is not possible, maybe add a water potion or maybe place it under food i dont know what already ingredients you could use but maybe you could create ingredients to make it
