When I start a new character in elder scrolls I always think about what kind of person I am. Am I afraid of magic? Of elves? Am I evil? Then I try to to roleplay. For me its the most fun experience. Anyway, in skyrim I'm often left between a few options that my character would never say. Im thus forced to just press tab and walk away out of pride, instead of having some cooler option (that anyway would lead to the same answer). Examples:

Maybe..

[Nod]

[shake head]

[shrug]

[stare!]

Or so. It would make it easier for me to fall into my character. [MINOR SPOILER] Just one example that comes into mind is when you speak to aela first time outside whiterun. The options are ridiculous. This goes for many places in the game.

Would be nice :)

I could help writing options for NPC's if someone would like to do the actual technical parts.

Im afriad its not as simple as just adding the option of shake head or something.

Every dialog for the quests would have to be inspected for places where this comes up and re-written.

Also, some of it just would not make sense,

such as, if an npc says something and you just state, yet the npc replys with `is that so,'... what is the npc basing his reaction on 0.0

I can see what you mean though, player made quests usualy have a lot more dialog options.

I just wish there were ways to avoid being utterly retarded.

I've come across 6 instances where I've been forced to say something outright idiotic because it forces me to tell the truth where the correct response is to lie through my teeth.

"I found your wife, I killed her" - should be > "I found your wife dead with this ring on her finger"

Something i wouldnt mind would be a way to say no.

Spoiler alert

Delphine: You must kill parthenax!

DB: how bout no *walks off*

I like to roleplay and sometimes my roleplay is a saddistic douche who doesnt want to help some old granny find her son.
