jonas66
I was contacted by a user regarding one of my mods that includes a transparent dress, and was told that it was not showing up as transparent. The user said that they have also had the same problem with Dimon's transparent Chinese dress, so I'm guessing that it is an issue with their hardware or game settings and not with my mod. They don't have the knowledge-base to work on fixing the problem so I told them I'd check. Does anybody know what might cause this? Would it be an issue with the vidcard, or something in the game settings, or something else that I'm perhaps overlooking. I've never heard of the game not recognizing alpha channels and transparency in that way before.
Jeoshua
What kind of texture maps were you using? I know that some cards have issues with the more exotic types that Photoshop can end up exporting with the official DDS tools. The best bet is usually the DXT1, 1a, 3, or 5 types, for compatibility. MyGoodEye
Wild guess: Is the user utilizing TRANSPARENCY MULTISAMPLING? If so, have them toggle it.
jonas66
I'm guessing. . . . not. Sigh. Guess I'll go with the old "update your vidcard drivers" standby.
JimboUK
Ask them to change their Anti Aliasing mode in CCC if they are using an ATI card, I had transparency issues when it was set to "Adaptive Multisample", the problem went away when I set it to "Performance". Thanks Jim, I do know that they're using an ATI card.

JimboUK
Oh well, looks like the old "update your drivers" will have to do. :(
luthienanarion
This issue seemed to appear when the 11.x drivers were released. The only fix that I've found (5770 user here) is to disable transparency multisampling in the advanced display options via the launcher as MGE mentioned above.
