Mysterious "Pipe" Weapon

So, I got back into Fallout 4 and I got a bunch of new weapon mods, plus others. I get a bit into the game and I start finding enemies carrying "Pipe" weapons. Not like pipe pistols or rifles like normal. And not the melee "Lead Pipe". Just "Pipe." The weird thing about "Pipe" is that, well...it doesn't seem to exist? No enemies actually use it, instead using their fists. Getting it from enemies reveals it has 0 weight and 0 value and that it has no model. Equipping it seems to use the Hunting Rifle animations, but the thing cannot be used.

 

I'm very much at a loss of what enabled this weapon to appear. None of the mods I downloaded make obvious that they add anything like this. In addition, though this isn't nearly as broken, something added a "Pipe Machinegun", kind of like a minigun pipe weapon. It spawns early in the game, in fact I found one right outside Sanctuary at the start. It sounds OP, but I'm actually okay with it being in the game since I realized it's balanced according to its low-level appearance with a high recoil and low accuracy. Again though, I don't know what added this! I don't have any weapon packs or overhauls, and Googling the weapon brings up nothing relevant.

I think Extended Weapon Mods adds the Pipe Machinegun.

 

As for the "Pipe" that doesn't exist, there's a few items like that in game. There's some kind of pistol that doesn't exist in the same way.

As for why it's appearing in the leveled list, I don't know.

 

The two Pipe weapons that appear for me on the console are 00024F55 and 03054448; one from the base game and one from the Far Harbor DLC.

Whenever I use the console to add either of these weapons to my inventory, it gives me a randomly generated pipe gun. The one from the base game is usable but the ones from the Far Harbor ID don't appear in my inventory and I have to remove them with the console.

 

What is the ID number for these pipe weapons you keep finding? The first two digits should tell you what mod/DLC is creating them.

I tried to get the ID for a pipe by clicking on it via console, but since there's no model or texture to find, it just tells me it's a non-ref object. I searched through the ID database as you did, and both results for weapons matched up with what you gave. So, we know it's either the base game or Far Harbor, but unless there's a way to get the weapon ID without clicking on it, it's going to be difficult figuring out what's doing it.

In my case it was a patch for extended weapons mod (Radrose vis patch). Load all your plugin in FO4Edit and look for the ref id 00024f55. Look at the last plugin that modify the pipe gun, it's probably the one in cause. If you can, simply move that plugin higher than another one that modify the pipe gun (In my case i had gunsmith extended). It should solve your problem.
