Controller and Mouse together

I just want to be able to use analog movement with my left hand, and the mouse in my right. I'm using a Saitek Pro Gamer Command Unit with a wonderful, ergonomic left thumbstick, and programmable buttons all under my 4 remaining left hand digits. However, I cannot map my analog joystick to the game anywhere. I tried using the X360ce program, but if I enable "controller", it shuts off my mouse and keyboard so that I can't even exit the game without ctrl+alt+del! With "controller" set to 1 in the ini or to enable in the menu, there is no way to use the mouse or the keyboard other than the ~ key works. I've searched all over on the forums, wikis, nexus, and the only console commands available that I can find deal with cheats. Not a single one on enabling mouse and keyboard with the joystick enables simultaneously.

I don't have the unobtainable xbox 360 controller dongle here to hook up a wireless controller, and I'll be danged if I'm going to spend $40 bucks on a wired one that I won't use. I am using VAC, but I have to use the stupid ADSW programming on the Saitek. Which is pretty constraining, and completely detracts from the immersion. I mean, do any of you only walk on cardinal and 45 degree headings at one of only three speeds?

Whoever came up with this dumbing down of control options needs a swift kick in the rear, and a year out here where I'm at.

Please help. As I'm in Afghanistan for another 6 months, this is the only stress relief I have other than working out.

I would like to indicate there is still no functional satisfactory resolution to this problem.

The main issue is still , no analog movement is possible while the mouse is active.

Mapping extra keyboard keys while the xbox controller is enabled is handy , but is no replacement for the aiming and viewing capabilities of a mouse.

Analog movement is fantastic for sneaking , hiding , checking out monsters from behind structures without getting noticed , delicate climbing and walking over narrow planks and the likes.

---

The setup I am aiming for through the usage of various 3rd party programs is movement using a wii nunchuck , and viewing with a mouse.

The only barrier I see now is that mouse routines get jumped if an xbox controller is present.. If it can't be done from within the game I'm sure it's just a mater of replacing a single jnz or jne with a jmp .

We can have our cake and eat it. The difference between good and great is just a few bytes.

---

I hope someone is still looking into this , preferably through advertised methods , but also using alternatives .

Try this. I've used it and it works. The only problem I've had is accidentally bumping a key and switching the keyboard/mouse/controller stuff inadvertantly.

Hope this is what you're looking for ....

This seems to be EXACTLY what I (and I assume the others in this thread too) am looking for. Except for one teeny-weeny problem: IT DOESN'T WORK! I have no idea what I did wrong, but it won't work

EDIT: OH my mistake! IT DOES WORK! I thought it would just work like most mods where you just download and install it using NMM and it works. But this mod is a little different - you have to download it manually, then extract it somewhere, then open the "The Elder Scroll V Skyrim Control Switcher.exe" file you extracted and run Skyrim alongside that. THAN it works.

But I should probably mention that since than I have given up on using a controller and instead ended up just using good ol' mouse and keyboard. This might make me come back to using a controller, but also might not. Frankly, I am having no problems with using my awesome mouse and keyboard.

If it lets me use mouse without disconnecting my controller, I'm all for it. Personally the reason I want to be able to use mouse is not for intense fighting or gameplay. It's for my sliders, since I have extended slider colors for almost everything, it thakes centuries to scroll through th colors using a controller.

It's a silly reason compared to you guys but it's still sometihng that bothers me and if the one key switch works with mouse, than it's all I need

Can anyone confirm if the "One-Key Switching" mod enables use of controller and mouse simultaneosly? And if so, which of the 3 hotkeys enables this combination?

Not that it matters, I've tried using it as directed and none of the hotkeys seem to do anything...

Unfortunately, NO, it does NOT seem to allow simultaneous controller+mouse.

<Insert> turns on controller+keyboard control,

<End> does keyboard+mouse, and

<Home> goes to just controller.

It's far superior to going through the settings menu each time I want to switch, but it appears that even after 3.5 years of this thread there's still no way to use a controller and a mouse simultaneously.

If it's possible at all, it would probably require tricking your computer itself into thinking mouse input was coming from the controller, and that's way beyond anything I know how to do.

It would indeed require emulation of the xinput calls using the mouse. There is software out there that can supposedly do this (vjoy, ppjoy, glovepie) but the interfaces are needlessly complex compared to something like xpadder/pinnacle.

It really peaves me off that many games support mouse/controller for analog movement and mouse control but others don't. It almost indicates that some devs intentionally lock the feature down just for kicks.

It would be nice if this input preference gained more popularity, as there really is no better way to play the majority of first person games than a multihanded setup.
