silentthunder10 Posted June 4, 2018 Share Posted June 4, 2018 My Creation Kit crashes all the time. Mostly when leaving a particular cell or if I move to fast. Very frustrating. I know Bethesda's people can't be dealing with these issues when they make their games. Time is money and can't make deadlines with unstable software. So either they are using different software or a much more stable version of Creation Kit. My Win 7 system uses an I5 processor and a GTX 560 video card. My Win 10 system uses the 8th gen I7 processor and a GTX 1070 video card. The Win 7 runs creation kit more stable by a long shot but lacks the power. Win 10 if I blink the wrong way the app is gone and I'm starting it up again. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
payl0ad Posted June 4, 2018 Share Posted June 4, 2018 Nobody's mentioned it so far but turning off markers speeds up load times considerably. Also, there are a number of things that will absolutely crash the CK: undoing terrain changes with too much "change" (as in, longer "brushstrokes")putting a material that specifies alpha information onto a mesh that has no alpha support (this is kinda hit or miss, better save before applying materials)doing practically anything while the object window searches (in short - type fast, try not to search for a single letter) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Hoamaii Posted June 7, 2018 Share Posted June 7, 2018 Been lucky enough as not to crash that often, except when I try to load faulty nifs (Skyrim's CK froze then too) - but for some reasons, I can't get layers to work - maybe it's me not using it properly. I can toggle markers or FX or collision like we did in Skyrim CK but that's about it. If I want to toggle Light boxes or Occlusion boxes to get better visibility to a cell, I have to toggle them one by one. Is there another way? But the most annoying thing is my CK will delete - or add!.. - masters at times (it even added Nuka World as a master a couple of times to an esp. when Nuka was not even loaded!..). A typical example is if I want to add ArmorKeyword as a master, the CK will delete that when I save my esp. I need to then use XEdit to add my master again!.. As for esp. masters, my CK ignores them entirely. Is there some .ini setting I might have overlooked? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Sure, I can move it out of the visible area each time the ck starts, but that's a little annoying. It never actually displayed anything relevant either.
