KiokothePirate
I am in need of some advice, particularly from anyone who has built a player home or any other structure. I've been working on a player home mod and appear to have done things in a reverse order from most people. I built the interior first and now I'm trying to make the exterior match. I can get the exterior to nearly match by sticking the warmaidens and Honningbrew meshes together, but there are a few places where things don't blend well. Would using NifSkope help me at all? I heard it can be used to combine meshes and turn them into a single object. I also heard it can make things translucent, which could help hide some unsightly features. I'm trying to avoid making too many changes to the interior. Can anyone offer any other advise on how I may go about building an exterior that matches my interior? thumbincubation
I've never used nifskope on structural meshes, so I'm not sure about that method. Since the exterior of a home is all statics, though, I usually join messy edges by resizing beams. There's one called (something like) shipkatariahwoodbeamstraight (01-03, though not much difference in them). It's a short, rectangular beam, rather like a railroad tie. When you size it up to the appropriate width, it's pretty good at hiding bad seams in walls.
NexBeth
Welcome to the club! I pretty much did the exact same thing with my mod Dragonia. Boy, massive work done on interior cells then went to start the exterior and hit the panic button. Fortunately, I was able to use existing ext. meshes, but you need to get creative and build upon it. If you look at a few of my ext pics on my page you will see that I did a massive build just using the Hjerim house mesh as well as adding pieces going through all of architectural statics in the CK to embellish. You can mix things up a bit with a little help from nifskope, or just using texture sets in the CK Here is what I'm working on now (not finished at all and this is a terrible CK pic I took just so I can ref. it while working on interior) I used a Solitude House and farm houses and additional pieces from CK, mixed up textures a bit so that the house does not look so Solitude-ish. http://i.imgur.com/DpFoVTF.png
KiokothePirate
My main gripe is with the chimney built into warmaidens. It does not match with where I put my fireplace/kitchen in my interior cell.http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c358/MJermann/notower02_1.png I tried hiding it with one of the towers you can craft for the Hearthfire houses, but it doesn't quite match.http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c358/MJermann/tower02.png Edited January 13, 2017 by KiokothePirate
