kturcotte1980
Is Steam in Program Files Directory? If so, will cause UAC issues. I have all of my stuff in C:/games/steam, NMM, SSE Edit and so onNMM and Steam need to be on the same hard drive so your mods can be foundSteam is under Program Files (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam). I have UAC turned off. NMM, Steam, and Loot are all on the C drive. NMM and Loot find Skyrim with no issues
Kroekr
And SSE Edit is trying to install in documents folder? See if you can just install it off the C drive

See if you can just install it off the C driveIt's not really "Installing" in the traditional sense. It's just opening like a regular file. Kroekr
Download the installer. It looks like you only downloaded the exe part.
kturcotte1980
Download the installer. It looks like you only downloaded the exe part.I downloaded the zip file here http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/164/?tab=2&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrimspecialedition%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D164&pUp=1 and unzipped it. It's the SkyrimSELauncher.exe in your game folder. Second, create a folder off your C drive and name it SSE Edit then unpack everything to that folder

Kroekr
Run SSE launcher like you were going to play a game. When you validate your files, it ALWAYS deletes your ini file so you have to reset your display options. Once that is done, then try SSE Edit. You don't actually have to play the game. aymanalz
Do you use any Hires texture replacers? If so, what size are they in? 2x? 4x? You also might want to clean your .esms.I do use them, and usually go for the highest available (Sometimes even 8k). However, I'm running at 1080p. Is there any advantage to running higher? If not, with a 1080p resolution, what's the highest I should be using? Well, this here is the issue as far as VRAM limit is concerned. For 1080p, 4k and above is rather pointless. Use 2k versions of all mods, and your vram requirement would come down substantially. Since you say that you CtD when you approach 4 gb VRAM, this is the place to start. You won't notice any visual degradation. Just try it.
Moksha8088
I think Windows 10 imposed an arbitrary limit of 4GB VRAM usage for 32bit DX9 games. The limit is much higher for 64bit games such as Skyrim SE and Fallout 4.
