Hexxagone Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Can someone create a bow that shoots magical arrows instead of real ones? So like a bound bow, except the bow is real and the arrows are made of magic that appear when you pull the string back instead of being on your back, if that makes sense. They could use mana as a resource, each arrow fired would cost 10 mana.
thumbincubation Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 I've always wanted one like that, but that shoots lightning bolts. lol. Not that I have any idea how to make it, but it does sound nice.
Hexxagone Posted December 23, 2016 Author Posted December 23, 2016 (edited) I've always wanted one like that, but that shoots lightning bolts. lol. Not that I have any idea how to make it, but it does sound nice.I think one way to do it would be: 1. Take a copy of the Nightingale Bow (for example) and make the string have a small flame effect like the bound bow has.2. Add new arrows that has an invisible quiver so its not visable on your back, while the arrow has the same flame effect from the bound bow Not sure if that would work as i'm not really a modder. As for your electricity, maybe the arrow has a lightning effect instead of flame and hits the target with electricity. Edited December 23, 2016 by Hexxagone
Fantafaust Posted December 23, 2016 Posted December 23, 2016 So far, I've been able to make a bow that has infinite arrows, and costs 50 magicka per shot.No quiver too. But the arrow doesn't show up until it's fired. You see it the whole way, just not while nocked.Enchantments on the bow work as usual. Thoughts?
Hexxagone Posted December 23, 2016 Author Posted December 23, 2016 Sounds good! Although 50 sounds like a high cost if you are just starting the game, maybe bring the cost down?
Fantafaust Posted December 24, 2016 Posted December 24, 2016 Idk, I still don't like not being able to see the arrow. Seems the arrow that the player "grabs" is taken from whatever is in the Quiver node at the time, ie if I edit it to not have an arrow there, that makes the arrows invisible. Plus, he still does the grabbing motion.Sure I can't convince you to leave the quiver? lol Anyways, what would you say to having multiple such bows, each of which you get by using a power, that gives you a new version of the bow if your alteration is high enough? ie hunting, elven and dwarven versions, etcEach "level" would have a steadily higher magicka cost and speed enhancement, all enchantable, of course.Daedric could come at 95 and up or just 100, and have a much lower magicka cost, and a very significant speed enhancement.
Hexxagone Posted December 24, 2016 Author Posted December 24, 2016 You are right, a quiver will be fine to keep, may end up looking better. Your idea sounds cool, im sure people will like the added variety Thanks for attempting this :)
Hexxagone Posted December 27, 2016 Author Posted December 27, 2016 Thori'dal the star's fury pls. What?
Fantafaust Posted December 27, 2016 Posted December 27, 2016 (edited) It's a bow from WoW that summons arrows when you pull back the string.Looks pretty cool, but couldn't possibly fit in Skyrim. Edited December 27, 2016 by Fantafaust
