IamtheDangan
Dawnbreaker is my favorite fantasy weapon of all time, and Meridia to me is one of the only gods worth worshiping in the Elderscrolls. So when she tells my character to cleanse Skyrim of corruption and spread her influence, my character is happy to oblige. However, once you're dropped back on the ground, you never have any contact with Meridia again, or mention a word about her to anyone. What happened to growing her influence? I see a mod with three main aspects. 1: Spread Meridia's influence. With Dawnbreaker equipped, you have a dialogue option with NPCs to talk about the goddes of infinite energies, similar to the pamphlet quest in the temple of Mara in riften. Vanilla dialogue could be spliced to give generic positive or negative responses. Positive responses would increase your standing with Meridia. Obviously Initiating this dialogue with a vigilant of Stendarr would cause them to attack you. 2: Killing the undead pleases Meridia. Ever time you kill an undead enemy, or necromancer, with Dawnbreaker equipped, your standing goes up. 3: Worship and blessing. The ability to pray in front of Meridia's statue, with an animation of course. If your standing is high enough from your deeds, you will gain a 12 hour blessing, buffing your destruction damage and one-handed, making Dawnbreaker even deadlier. Maybe increase the power of healing magic too, since she's the goddess of life energy. I don't mind making this mod myself, but I've never made a mod of this sort. All I've done before is weapons/armor and enchantments. I have no idea where to start or how to add things like dialogue, or write a script that tracks standing with the goddess. It would be awesome if someone with actual talent could make a mod like this, or just advice on how to get started would be great as well.
Caerulean
2. The Religion mod may satisfy this. Haven't checked though if it's on SE. 3. My mod partly satisfies this, but it's not on SE. (D: I need someone to make it compatible for SE...)
IamtheDangan
Just checked out your mod. I can't believe I never found this before, it looks great, perfect for my character. Once it's ported I can finally role play as Meridia's champion. Hopefully someone can port this over. Thank you for the heads up, and for giving some love to my favorite deity. -Edit I was able to get your mod working in SSE by unpacking the BSA files and repacking the files with the CK. I'm currently testing. Thanks again. Edited December 23, 2016 by IamtheDangan
Caerulean
Coincidentally, you made your post hours before I uploaded this new mod. xD (It's a major update to a rather old mod of mine. I just gave it its own mod page. Not sure if you're referring to the new one; I just updated my signature yesterday as well.) I'm honestly surprised it's working. :o Please tell me if it's working as intended. Certain aspects of the mod use scripts (mostly vanilla and 5 custom) and I don't know if SE can read those Oldrim scripts just fine.
IamtheDangan
I did download the last version. So far everything seems to be working as intended. I can't say 100% for sure since I never played the Oldrim version, but I haven't encountered any bugs or crashes yet. Everyone shows up in the temple, the followers are working, the spells I tried (all but the conjuration school spells) seem to be working as intended, and Meridia's blessing works. I haven't encountered Nightbringer yet, but it might be because I haven't learned all the spells yet. I'll keep you posted if I come across any issues. By the way, considering you did the voice acting yourself, it's not bad at all. It isn't everything I wanted, but it satisfies most of it, and overall it's one of my favorite mods. Thoth6222
There is an oldrim mod that replaces the statue of talos with meridias statue in whiterun. And removes Heimskrs annoying preaching.
Caerulean
(Sorry for the late reply.) Really glad to know it's working well thus far. :) And I'm relieved to hear that my voice acting is not bad, haha, as I've no professional equipment nor experience for it. I assume you already completed Nylhac's challenge? That causes the Nightbringer to be enabled in-game and you can encounter him at his starting location regardless of time. But he won't start hunting you until a certain spell is learned. Maybe I should remove/change the condition? I don't expect non-mages to read (all of) the spell tomes. xD v1.2 is up by the way. Lawcode
I don't mean to bump this topic but I have to know, how exactly did you get the mod to work on SSE? It is almost a year later and the mod is still not ported to SSE Nexus, and I would like to be able to spread the word of Meridia to the people of Tamriel. So how EXACTLY did you port it to SSE? Thank you for your reply.
twowolves80
Well, there is this article for converting OldRim mods to SSE. It's in a pinned thread, but the thread title doesn't exactly hint that there are conversion instructions in there. Took me an hour to find a thread I commented on the other day...grr...Anyway, hope this helps answer your question, Lawcode, at least until OP gets back to you on this thread.Happy modding!:)
