chucksteel
Make sure NMM actually installed all the files for the mods. It may not which is why your having the issue. Download the mod or mods manually,Unpack the download to a new folder, compare what is inside of the folder with what is in your games data folder, If files are missing move the missing file from the new mod folder to your data folder, Rise and repeat until all mods are working properly. Danidude1
I checked and it appears that NMM is not installing the meshes. the folders for the weapons are there, but they are empty.i havent had this problem with NMM before, any way of making sure NMM installs the meshes? chucksteel
From what I've read the latest versions of NMM have had some bugs which are causing the issues. Personally I always install mods manually and just use NMM to control my load order.

AGreatWeight
Yes, the newest version of NMM is buggy, especially when it comes to installing textures (that's what the purple indicates, a missing texture file or an incorrect filepath for it) and is now end-of-line as the team are working on a brand new mod manager (with the author of Mod Organizer acting as lead developer, so this means it will be vastly superior)However, you can still use a previous (working) version of NMM if you check out this helpful thread Edited December 23, 2016 by AGreatWeight
chucksteel
No just the .esm or .esp the ba2 archives (if the mod has them) or the any folders containing loose files. (Meshes, Textures, Materials, Sounds, and so on.) The FOMOD and the .xml are only required for NMM and contain options for install. Some mods are very easy to install manually but others like "Full Dialogue Interface" can be more complicated because of all of the language options. What mod are you having issues with? Your OP said missing weapons, Does the mod have options for installing?
