Unofficial Challenge: Best Weapon Mod

[-The size of the mod MUST be at least 1MB. This helps me determine if you put any effort into the mod.

 

 

Bonus Points:

-Retexturing weapons gets you minimal bonus points.

-Custom models & textures get you far more points than retexturing.

 

You can't claim that a mod under 1mb has had no effort put in. If someone has no art associated with a mod then the esp files can be very small. By you're guidelines, any mod that meets the 'required' criteria could be under 10kb.

How many modders do you think will be able to create 10 new models, not retexturing, plus all the quests to earn them, in just two days ?

 

Perhaps in two weeks time you could get some response.

One month could be enough to have a serious number of participants.

I have made a few mods (they are uploaded to Nexus), and I am working on another *better* one, as well as a weapon pack for this challenge (but I will not make myself the winner).

 

And what makes you think I don't make models or textures? Hm?

 

And I was intending for this challenge to help get modders some recognition.

Secondly, SickleYield is a legend in this community and a very accomplished modder, She has made some very valid points is by no means the idiot you take her for. Neither is anyone else here for that matter.

 

Thirdly, why would you upload a file and give an author name that was different from your user name, unless of course that is actually someone elses work you are taking credit for.

 

In any case all of these behaviors are widely frowned upon by our community and you would do well not to repeat them. If you think Sickle an I gave you a large dose of reality you had had better prey Vagrant doesn't come in here.

Kaleidoscope is my other name. I didn't want to make another account on Nexus just to upload stuff.

 

I am learning how to model and texture. I had meant I didn't know how to do it for Oblivion. I have modelled with XSI for Source games.

 

And finally, you're all cruel, heartless, jerks. I don't care who's a "legend in this community", and who's not. You don't have to be an A-hole to every person new to the community. I've noticed this with every forum I've ever joined; the people are jerks.

 

Forget this stupid challenge, then. I don't really care anymore, since you guys are all (as I have said quite a few times already) jerks.

You gotta give respect to get respect. It's not something that is handed to you. Trust me I started out exactly where you are at and took my licks and I didn't cry about it. Instead I learned as much as I could about modding Oblivion before I came back in here trying to converse with people on their level. As I read this post, I thought, damn they are being pretty hard on this kid and then you had to open your mouth and talk smack without checking out the person you were talking to. Don't just quit, man up and become that which you falsely claimed to be and one day you will look back and laugh about it. If you give up this easily then Oblivion is not for you anyway, so sorry if you think we were being jerks. In actuality what we were doing was testing your salt and you failed miserably I'm afraid.

I am not crying about it; I am not a kid. I didn't quit for no reason, I quit because nobody cared about this challenge. Why bother with something that nobody cares for? I mean, I cared, but nobody else did. And I don't give up easily. Whenever I get pissed at Oblivion, or anything else, I continue to do what I was doing, untill I can finally do whatever it was I was trying to do, and then I'm not pissed anymore.

 

And I don't care what you were testing. My point is, everybody is a jerk to somebody, unless that somebody is well known & respected.

 

I was trying to earn some respect, by trying to host a respectable challenge. Sure, I have my flaws, but the community need only point them out politely, then not bring it up again.
