Deleted661910User
Hello, After trying to figure this out for myself, I've reached the point that I realize that's not going to happen.. What I've been trying to find is some file or setting that dictates which cloud texture is used in conjunction with a certain weather type. I've figured out that there isn't any data stored within the cloud model itself (apart from the mountain mists, but that's not what I'm looking for), so I've begun trying to find something within Skyrim.esm. Of course I don't really know what I'm doing, and thus I'm totally lost! Would anyone around here know whether I'm even looking in the right place? Any tips/suggestions would be very much appreciated! This noob wants to learn :) Thanks!
throttlekitty
I don't have much to offer, since much of the weather business is in the esm. But, looking at some clouds in NifSkope, (meshes\sky) I see the textures assigned in the EffectShaderProperty. Deleted661910User
Thanks for your reply! I already know of the meshes and the textures that are linked to them, but those are for the mountain mists and not the clouds in the atmosphere. I still appreciate the help though :) Guess I'll wait for the construction kit, see if then I can figure it out ^^
Xepha537
In the Geck (and assuming the same for the CK), specifying cloud textures are done within the weather type itself. For each weather type there are 4 cloud Layers (0 - 3) with an edit box containing the path and filename to the texture. Layer 0 is the upper clouds, Layer 3 is the lower clouds. Layers 1 & 2 are used for clouds that appear on the horizon. Each have their own colour and cloud speed settings. Again, all as in the Geck - it could be different in the CK, but I'd wager it won't be too different.
