My original idea was a Stendarr faction but as another mod working on it and my own belief Bethseda may release a DLC concerning them I decided to take a new route and develop a whole new faction, town and change the world of Skyrim.

General Idea

As many of you know Talos is a man Tiber Septim who ascended to god hood. In the Great War the Elves had forced the worship of Talos to end oppressing followers and prosecution any who worship him (was part of the treaty after great war). As Talos is one of the Nine Divines and as any religion you try to suppress their religion people fight back. My goal is to bring talos back to Skyrim as a main worship free of prosecution.

I wish to take factions in a new direction. The player does not simply join this faction and rise up the ranks. You will be the founder of this town and be one of the main soldiers in the fight to bring back Talos as one of the nine divines free of prosecution in Skyrim. Everything from finding artifacts, to hiring a architect to help you rebuild the town (Will act as a house normally does your purchase the building to be built). With enough money and effort you will build a whole town as you try to raise Talos back to worship.

How quest will work?

Quest while not construction kit yet I have a general idea how I would like to do the quest. There will be 3 main Quest lines in the town. Bringing Back Talos Worship, Rebuilding the Town, and Shop Quest.

Bringing Back Talos - This will be a quest line in which you fight for the return of Talos worship. This will bring problems with the Imperials (Imperials will be helpers in covert now Thanks Lachdonin on information) and the Thalmor. You will need to battle them to free Skyrim of thier oppression pushing them out of Skyrim for good. Possible Good / Dark Route to bringing it back.

Rebuilding the Town - The town will start as a empty lot and you must hire a contractor to help you build the return of this lost town in Skyrim. Purchasing Buildings, Finding Store Owners, Gaurds, and more.

Shop Quest - These quest will be for the shop keepers as no one can start with nothing and expect to make sales, you help these shop keepers bring their store to life.

Other Quest - Companions (You actually need to work to get these companions to fall for you), Threats on your Town, (Open to Ideas Suggest Please!! Thanks!)

What new Items will there be?

Several New Items will be brought into this Town/Faction.

+ Armor of Talos (Plan for different varients for Mages/Melee and Archers)

+ New Buildings (Plan to model more unique buildings so your town is like no other)

+ Unique Weapons and Shields Etc..

+ and more. (once again open to suggestions)

What Buildings can you buy for your town?

+ Wall Around the Town

+ Talos Shrine

+ Temple of Talos

+ Talos GuildHall

+ Library

+ Inn

+ Gaurd House (complete with jail)

+ Archers Building

+ Black Smith

+ General Goods Store

+ Apothecary

+ House District (Adds homes to the town)

+ Your own Special home that will over look the town.

What will be the perks of paying to have this town raised?

With each building you will gain a tax, that helps you fund the town, the more you add the more you make. Also based on how you bring back his worship how people outside your town will view you. Several people who will happily follow you into battle. Also much more, (traders for use, special options, and new radiant quest fit for a Jarl.)

Will there be restrictions to who can start this Town?

No this will be for any player who wishes to see Talos worshipped in the Skyrim once more.

I will be doing as much as I can I have experience in Scripting my main talent is 3D Art (Props, Buildings Etc)

If anyone is interested in Helping just post let me know. I am open to any ideas and suggestions and hope to bring something unique to Skyrim.

First off, i'd like to point out that the Empire still views Talos as a god. Even the administration does. However, they have banned his worship because of an international treaty, similar to the Roman banning of the goddess Isis (Yes, she was worshiped there too. In fact, Roman religious practices were exceptionally diverse and freely assimilated dieties imported from neighbouring empires and even captured civilizations) due to pressure from Prythia. If it were up to the Empire, Talos would be reinstated, but in order to avoid war, they have to uphold their end of the treaty.

Moving on, Talos IS a god. In fact, he's more than a god, he's CHIM, one of only two individuals i know of who has acheived such a state.

Anyway, my point is that i don't see this type of community/faction drawing the ire of the Empire. Particularly when they are more likely to let the Thalmor deal with that part of the treaty than getting involved themselves. I'd even suspect that, if the faction conducted its self in a peaceful and orderly fasion (Unlike the Stormcloaks) they would offer covert support.

Beyond those points, however, i fully support any attempts to make interactive Build-your-own-town system, as i did enjoy the rather limited model offered in Bloodmoon. Finding a place to put it... Now thats something of a doozy...

Im still new to the universe (started in oblivion) so thanks for the suggestions. I felt when I typed imperials it didn't feel right that might be why. The main problem was going to be the Falmor and their attempts to stop you. I like the idea of imperials covertly helping you adds a unique ideas in my head. Thank you! Any ideas on stories, and etc.. I am welcome to.

As for the name of the mod that's something that will change it was just something for project name.

If anyone has ideas to dedicate this town to that fits Lore Wise I am more than welcome this is work in progress idea. Anything Subject to change. Thanks for the info though taking it into account and will continuely look for other ideas, Main feature I am focused on keeping is the building the town. Though the start of the town can change.

As far as the Thalmor (I assume their the ones you're talking about, and not the Falmer, who are the troglididic elves who live underground) interaction goes, i can see it being approached in one of two ways.

Either the town is founded first, and THEN worships Talos openly once it hits a certian level, or its founded as a 'haven for Talos Worshipers' so the open worship is right there from the start.

In option A, you could have gradual Thalmor involvement, first with a Justicator or two snooping around to a gradual inquisition (And thus conflict) once the town worships Talos openly. This could give you several subterfuge options, where you have to try to remove the Thalmor agents in the beginning without causing a stir.

In option B, you have more direct involvement, as the Thalmor would be pressing to destroy the settlement at every turn. From a midnight raid with maybe 5 Justicators to a Civil-War like battle sequence.

/palmtoforhead Ya the Thalmor is exactly what I meant, I have no idea why I type Falmer.

As for option A yes the town will take time that was my idea, is this mod doesn't all come together at once, you face many trials in starting the town. So starting out openly is a great way to run into problems fast. So this is the route I planned to take, don't want to reveal to much of the story I got going, mainly for immersion reasons I want people to not know what will come next. I like your idea though dealing with them small and then when the town gets big enough it kinda runs into B where you will start to face a lot more resistance against the idea. Also I plan for quest related to this town to last even after becoming Jarl as running a town isn't all reward with no challenges.

Curious if your interested in helping me in the Lore side of things Let me know would love to have someone who knows the world. I got the ability just not the knowledge of many fellow fans of the series.

Ive kinda found a location I like in between towns and no real landmarks on the map in the attachment.

Well, i'm not exactly sure WHERE that location is without the rest of the map, but it certianly looks empty.

As for Lore Consultation, i'm free for any questions. TES has taken over the place of Warcraft in my lore-repository, since Blizzard seems dead-set on retconning things every time they want to make an expansion instead of building on whats already there while at the same time facilitating an idiotic conflict between the Alliance and Horde while the entire universe tries to destroy Azeroth... I'm not bitter or anything... The only fictional universe i'm more up-to-date on than WoW and TES is Warhammer 40k, but i don't think thats aplicable here. God i'm a nerd... i hope my GF doesn't find out...

Ya its just North North West of Falkreath which I may change it up I have a few areas to scout but that was my first favorite since next to a mountian (your house when purchased will over see the town) and I didn't want snow on this town skyrim has plenty of those so grassy area was important.

Ya I would love some Lore help and as for a geek we all are in our own ways lol. My gf actually likes it I'm lucky there lol. I use to play WoW and I haven't played over a year so I'm with ya there man. Having someone who understands the universe will help make this mod be immersive, and help with quest ideas. So any help I do appreciate, and thanks for tips so far on ideas.

you could put the town inside a nordic ruin that isnt connected to any quests, like an underground city! (cleverly hidden from the thalmor agents) and the walls would be like reactivating the ancient traps instead of just walls

Not a bad idea by any means and will keep it in mind for when creation kit comes, Although I will say reason I like a open town that you build is it kinda shows the feeling we don't care what you think we will worship him as we please and do it openly not from hiding. With that said though doesn't mean I cannot incorperate this idea, as well guild house could be a old ruin built into the mountain you find in the beginning. The town forms around the outside of it. I like the idea though and will keep it in mind when forming this idea.

Thanks nightrox1 :) Thanks for the suggestions you 2 so far, I want this mod to be something the community enjoys, and not just myself and I will appreciate anymore suggestions from other members of community.
