vampirefaeries
In almost every mod there is a file named "Read me". That's what most of them are called. Wish they would put"*mod name* read me" on the text files. It'd do away with being asked if I want to overwrite and I'd have all the read me files in one place. The mods without a read me file can be a problem. Ok...I downloaded that last week. Where did he say that place is....? GenghisKhan....good nym......one of my favorite history heroes. Saladin is another. I just keep a separate file called ReadMe.txt for all of my mods Read Me's. I just pull them out before I install it and then there are no problems on install, you have to read it anyway why not take it out then? (and you don't have all that junk in your Oblivion data folder). That way I have quick and easy access to any of them too.
MalachiDelacot
I love this place! You read a thread to learn something and end up learning the original thing, plus 5 or 12 other things. Love it! Any day you don't learn something, even if it's something you'll never need, it's pretty much a wasted day. Like we learned from GenghisKhanIT about a song Iron Maiden did and how he got his nym. Never knew it before, and it's highly unlikely you'll be on a game show and asked about it, but hey, now you know. Also, we learned from vampirefaeries that she keeps a seperate file to store her readme files in. That makes sense, and it's easy. Why didn't we think of it....duh. But if you want to know if the faeries that are vampires are Sidhe, you'll have to ask her. (Jeez, I hope I edited that and got the proper gender before she read this or she'll never ask me out for dinner)One good thing about a place like this....it brings such a wide veritey of peoples together from all kinds of backgrounds with a vast knowledge pool. I haven't looked in on it yet, but there is a forum here to just talk about stuff.Did you notice I mentioned *readme files* that are put in the mods that can be turned on and off just to keep this on topic so the moderator won't toss it out. And, by now, you should have learned that moszibby is not totally serious and sometimes doesn't know when to shut up. GenghisKhanIT
In almost every mod there is a file named "Read me". In case disabling the mod could have potentially dangerous effects for your save game, mod author usually adds an uninstalling section. Take a look to the readme file for the mods you want to disable, they could contain actions to prevent damaging your saved games. As a side note, readme file is always worth reading for every mod you install. FYI-I read EVERY single "ReadMe" file that comes with every mod that I have ever downloaded. (I'm not an idiot) They sometimes tell you how to uninstall a mod. That part is simple, with or without their instructions. But I have never seen one that told you how to prevent damage or negative effects of unistalling or disabling their mod. And I checked MMM. There is nothing in there to help and not a word about uninstalling. I thought that I would look for a little help from someone that has done this before with MMM. But Thanks anyway. VampireFaeries No one told you that you're an idiot, simply a lot of people do not read every single read me. I do it, of course, so I also recommend it. I rememeber for sure having seen uninstall instruction containing "unequip xxx item before disabling this mod" or "be sure you are outside when disabling this mod". I cannot help you about MMM, though.
Pujangga
The gameplay-altering mods, such as OOO and MMM, are.. hard to remove and may glitch the game if they are switched off.I, for instance, always stick to OOO and I don't have any intention to add MMM, although I know there is a way to make them tag along in harmony  That is, because the OOO and MMM are not mods which simply add items, but they are integrated right into the gameplay body. Levelling is altered, some AIs are tweaked, and so on and so on. For me, I always keep backup files in my external harddisk. Those .RARs, .ZIPs, and .7zs are there unwrapped. Then if I want to use a mod, or many mods, I simple copy the original wrapped files to a special folder (I name it "Obliplay"), that's where the files are unwrapped and the original extracted files are intact. Then, I simply copy the needed files, such as the "meshes", "textures", and the .esps or .esms to the Oblivion/Data folder in order to play it (or them).
