I saw M'aiq getting chased by Bandits. So I decided to help him, but when I went to find the poor Khajiit, he mysteriously disappeared and I instead found a Frostbite Spider and nothing else. I searched the whole area for him, to no use, still could not find him. :ohdear:

Had another one today. I'm sure it's a scripted random encounter but I hadn't seen this one before. Walking around near Rorikstead. Using Aura Whisper because I know there's a bandit ambush ahead. I kill the bandits, but I see some activity across the river (with the shout) and jump across the falls to check it out. Turns out there's a couple of hunters doing battle with a spriggan and a deer. Pretty standard encounter.

Ā

I kill the Spriggan, but not before it got one of the hunters. I loot the corpse and use detect dead because I could have sworn there was three aggressors on my radar. Couldn't find the other one. After treking around a bit I went back across the river to resume my journey (headed towards Karthwestern). I use Aura Shout again and see what could be two sets of NPC's walking closely or some four legged animals. I go around the bend and it turns out to be some wolves, but the odd thing is there's an NPC standing in the road that doesn't show up with Aura Shout. I get closer and see it's a hunter. I'm thinking no way it's the one from across the falls. (probably wasn't)

Ā

So I see her firing shots at the one wolf. I cast detect dead to see if she got it (it's dark at this point). She didn't, and as I'm standing there another wolf attacks. I lead it towards her just for fun and she kills it. As I start to walk away a dialogue pause comes up and the Hunter talks to me.

Ā

She says she's been bitten by a vampire and wants to know if I have anything to cure her before she turns. I have an option to give her a cure disease potion, tell her I can't help her, or ask her how this happened. I chose how did this happen. She says she'll mark the place on the map so I can avoid it. I get no "map updated" message, but I give her the potion afterwards.

Ā

Pretty neat event. I kinda wish I could have gotten the map update. But then it probably would have been useless anyways. I know when you run into that mercenary he marks your map, but it doesn't add to the quest log so I never know which place is the one he marked.

Hah. I really gotta start looking into Fraps. I fast traveled to Northwind Summit. Killing dragons and mammoths usually gives me a good dose of points towards leveling my two-handed skill, which I really find a chore since I'm a sword and shield kinda guy. Anyways... I hit the thing with Storm Call first, and it's only a blood dragon so it's not really don't anything to me with it's first blast of fire. Then it lands and I start beating on it. I get it to about halfway, and just as it takes off my two handed sword must have been long enough to clip it's tail or wing or something because as it's just above my head I hear it give that "pain" sound dragons give.

Ā

So the thing crash lands the length of the summit, which is pretty normal, but it hits a house and flips up over top of this stone totem thing. The thing is busy thrashing around and can't right itself almost like a real animal getting caught. It was hysterical, especially when it tried to blow flames and was aiming nowhere near me.

Ā

I put it out of its misery.

Once when I fought a dragon at Skyborn Altar, some kind of glitch caused him to do his desparation dive move into the mountainside below the battlefield. Then he ended up standing in the air, trying to walk into the mountain.

Ā

I waited to see if he would fly up but I had injured him to the point where he'd stay down until I killed him. So I had not other choice but to skid down the nearly vertical cliff and fight this dragon while we were both essentially falling down a mountain, Gandalf vs Balrog style. We finally got lodged in a small protruding edge where I could finish him off. Then I needed to do some jump-climbing just to get down on the ground again.

Ā

Another time I had just cleared out Mistwatch when, upon leaving, a dragon attack. Where the hell did he come from? Oh well.

Ā

I was so focused on watching the sky that it took a while before I realised something else was attacking me. I look down to find two sabrecats were trying to eat me. Where the hell did they come from?

Ā

While I was fighting the sabrecats, the dragon decides to land right next to me, but then all of a sudden a giant shows up out of nowhere and started fighting the dragon. Where the hell did he come from?

Ā

Once the dragon and sabrecats were dead, I spotted another dragon - the one in the nearby dragon nest. I thought: "What the hell? Can't slow down now, I'm on a roll!" So I run over to fight this second dragon. While fighting it I suddenly noticed someone was shooting arrows at me. I look around and see, of all things, a bunch of skeletons attacking me. Where the hell did they come from?

Ā

Finally, everyone was dead. I absorbed the second dragon soul and quickly saved. Then the game crashed.

Ā

I tried to reload, but I found my saves weren't working anymore. That last battle had somehow broken the game. o_O

Ā

Regrettably, I had to remove the whole save file and start over from an earlier one to fix it.

Ā

I think my most memorable dragon fight (and I think, not only mine) was my first visit to Shearpoint. I finally finished that dragon and approached the Word Wall thinking "damn, I'm good"...

Ā

Enter Krosis.

(Grave music.)

Ā

So it wasn't a dragon fight really, it was a dragon priest fight. Well, it wasn't a fight either. Thanks to all Aedra and Daedra, I already knew Become Ethereal shout (only first word, but it was enough). After his first fireball it became clear to me that this fight is... well... I leave it to you to figure. So I ran to the nearest slope shouting Feim on the way, and jumped...

Of course, I returned later, upgraded, armed to the teeth, enchanted to the... well, you know. But that's another story, and it's not very interesting.

Ā

So far, Krosis was easily my favourite fight in the whole game.

Ā

Since it takes place outdoors, and Dragon Priests always float around when you fight them, we ended up battling all the way down the nearby valley... in the middle of a massive snowstorm! I was swinging a huge ebony battle axe around, Krosis was flinging fireballs like crazy, and we were more or less equal in dishing out damage. I could barely see him for all the snow and fire. Eventually I stopped healing myself and we just stood there slugging it out until he finally died.

Ā

It wasn't the toughest fight I've had, but it was definitely the one with the most epic feeling.

I've met a pair of farmers when I was travelling somewhere west of Solitude. They told me that their farm was burned down by a dragon. I gave them 5 gold thinking: why can't I give them 5000? Why can't I build them a new farm?! That was one of the few ingame situations that gave me some feelings. My character is Dragonborn, after all, and I always thought that defending humans (or elves, or anyone else) from the dragons is my responsibility. I had to be there when that dragon was burning their farm!.. But I wasn't. :(

Ā

I'll definitely change that miserable 5 gold to a decent sum in my private mod.

I agree about the poor farmers, given that my characters always end up with vastly more wealth than they can ever use. Same thing with the beggars. Why can't I at least give them more than a septim? I often want to hand them a set of decent clothes and a decent stake to get them back on their feet, unless they're totally crazy and obnoxious.

Ā

But then they wouldn't be beggars anymore, would they?

Ā

You want to put them out of a job, you heartless person!?

Quirkyblonde, I've been tempted to dive from high points into the water myself sometimes, but I never take the time to do it though...What do you think of Bard's Leap though? Never tried jumping from there but it seems like it's been specially made for something like this. Technically not a mountain top but still:)

Ā

I can't remember the name, but that might be it. Southwest part of the map? Getting a shield for Jarl of Markarth?

Ā

If you take the leap of faith, you'll be rewarded by a quick congrats from someone. Funny, I never leaped from anywhere else but it was too perfect to pass up.

The name is HagĀ“s End, i like to jump fom there too, but sometimes i fall in the ground and not in the water, my character die in the second he hit the ground.

I have had this happen before, and it happened again a few hours ago. There I was, on my horse watching a band of soldiers walking past me with their prisoner and while I was contemplating having some fun with them via the Nightingale Subterfuge power, a white power glow raced around my body and I thought Lydia was trying out one of her new spells on me (UFO mod)....but no I was absorbing a dragon soul, even though there were no dragons in sight, nor after an extensive search of the perimeter were there any skeletons. I suppose it makes up for the dragon I slayed in one of my previous characters, that stayed in body. Didn't lose it's soul or turn into a skeleton
