funzies1
I have the Nexus Mod Manager, and I was trying to download some armor retextures and what-not. I downloaded them, activated them and when I started the game, I didn't have any said mods. This is where I have a few questions:Do I need the armor before applying the mod?Is there something that I'm not doing right, like putting said mod in the right folder?Do I just not know what I'm doing? RitualBlack
Help or halp  . If it is just a standalone armor retexture than there will be no esp (only a texture file and a normal map). Simply but having the texture in the proper directory is enough. When you next go in game you should notice the changes  . If you have any more questions feel free to ask. This is where I have a few questions:Do I need the armor before applying the mod?<snip>Do I just not know what I'm doing? Inexperienced is a better term than "Do I just not know what I'm doing?" :DAsk yourself these questions before you reply back.1. Do I have the armor that was modded in my inventory/storage areas? (homes, etc)2. Does this armour (that was modded) exist on any other character at the moment. 3. If so, do they seem changed from default? If the answers to the questions in 1 & 2 are no, then you will have to buy/steal/loot the armour that was modded to see any difference. If the answers to either of the first two questions are yes and question 3 is no, then you should double check your installation.Simple answer, if you can see the armour and it has not changed, then something done got screwed up! :)If you can't see the armour, then wait until you see it. If it is changed, then you got a good install.
funzies1
Okay. I figured out what was wrong. You actually have to have the armor first. Silly me :D Cheers to you all then <

It goes to the Skyrim folder. Shouldn't it be placed in the textures folder? There is a very standard folder structure for all Bethesda games. It normally goes:C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\skyrim\data\texture\(various sub-folders)\meshes(various sub-folders) The mod will have either a data folder in it, or a texture folder. Simply merge the mod with the corresponding folders. If its a texture folder you will drop it into the data folder, if its a data folder you would drop it into your skyrim folder. The folders should all be properly named and by merging them the mod will automatically go where its supposed to.
