  1. First of all, if I may be so bold, let us rephrase the original post. Let's try this statement. "It can be confusing to see so many translations popping up as separate mods/headings." This is a real issue at times. Now for the Disclaimer. Disclaimer: Kudos to all the translators who put forth the time and effort in bringing these mods to your/our native languages. You guys rock! Also, these are my own ideas and views. Please remember this while reading. Now for the issue at hand. There are two basic ideas that perhaps modders/users sometime forget. First Idea: When you upload a mod to this site, it goes worldwide and not just to the person across the street. Please make accommodations for this. Please remember that the whole world does not speak your native tongue and that if it is a good mod, then people will want it in their native language. We need a way to either consolidate these translations either directly under the original mod (idea: modders, please request for translations and then merge those translations under your files location) or, perhaps the poor, overworked (i.e. ready to pull their hair out if someone requests one more change to the site format) site managers/programmers, could find a way to virtually link/group these together with the original mod. Perhaps a "translation" link for each mod using a form of template that could be filled out by the translator that would point to his/her own account, but still be seen under a "translations" link for that particular mod. Maybe even a "New translations" section that would be similar to "Newest files" format. Second Idea: Why do people make mods? First of all, for themselves (or special request.) Then they decide to share it with the rest of us. I thank you all for this. However, we might not think that our mod is worthy or good enough or whatever. But if you post it, someone will like it, and they might not speak your language natively. Remember this. Plan for this. It will happen. Here are some ideas that can help. Users, if you want a mod translated, ask the original author first. Maybe that mod that turns all the dragons into giant "ghaak" for your pet targ to eat may not be written in the original Klingon, but maybe it was not written because the original author wasn't aware that there are people that like to see Skyrim in the "original Klingon" so he/she/they used english/<insert language here> instead. Authors, if you throw a mod up on this site, please understand and realize that your mod may want/need a translation. Ask around for translators. Just in case. Ask your users to ask you for translations and then you can consolidate the translations into your site. I have seen where there are voice actors asking for auditions. Let see how we can create a section for voice actors and modders to meet. Then do the same for translators. Let us maximize the power of this worldwide community of modders, gamers and designers to our mutual benefit. The site managers/programmers and the moderating team rock here, so I remain here, enjoying the fruits of other people's labors of love. But if we remember that we are a worldwide community and not all of us speak Klingon/English/<insert language here> natively and we can plan for this, then we can work together to form stronger bonds with our community. Peace!
  2. Script it was. Arrrgh! Where is my brick wall when I need it! lol It has been a while and thanks for the heads up. This fixes a lot of things for me.
  3. Finally after a bit of RL, I can get back to some scripting. Here is my problem. Using OBSE 2.0, I am attempting to pass/use an array (and array of arrays) created in a quest script for "tracking" purposes. (I don't want to throw up 100 invisible paintbrushes on the world. lol) One other thing. The script trying to use the array is an Object script. Here is the object script: scn AAObject short hasmet short once Begin Onload if once != 1 let hasmet := AquestScript.mplayer[0] ; mplayer array is defined as a nine element array in AquestScript, which is running message "I've seen you before" let once := 1 endif end In the CS when I try to save this code, it says "Unknown Variable mplayer", any ideas?
  4. Even in it's own thread, the Dovahkiin get's no respect! Totally ignored after the first few posts. lol
  5. Inexperienced is a better term than "Do I just not know what I'm doing?" :D Ask yourself these questions before you reply back. 1. Do I have the armor that was modded in my inventory/storage areas? (homes, etc) 2. Does this armour (that was modded) exist on any other character at the moment. 3. If so, do they seem changed from default? If the answers to the questions in 1 & 2 are no, then you will have to buy/steal/loot the armour that was modded to see any difference. If the answers to either of the first two questions are yes and question 3 is no, then you should double check your installation. Simple answer, if you can see the armour and it has not changed, then something done got screwed up! :) If you can't see the armour, then wait until you see it. If it is changed, then you got a good install.
  6. Until we get the Construction Kit, I do not think it is possible. (When we do get it, you should see several different types.) Until then, snack on a housecarl or two!
  7. Hijackthis for my browsers, Comodo internet security, Spybot, Malwarebytes, and regedit! lol (I needed a decent firewall 'cause I irritated a couple of script kiddies a while back.)
  8. I used to play Skyrim, but took an arrow to the motherboard. (I was swapping in some Ram and had my computer on my knee.)
  9. Yes, but don't kitty's always land on their feet? :whistling: Only after they stop bouncing!
  10. Try three things. 1. Antivirus should either be OFF (only WHILE playing the game!!!) or in "stateful" mode. Not "on access". 2. Bring up the taskmanager and see what amount of ram is free. Most new computers have a ton of "excess junk" that eats up system ram. Kill some of the processes if needed. (Make sure they are not system critical, like Kernel.dll, etc.) 3. Make sure that the latest video drivers are installed. Hopefully one of those things will help.
  11. Two deaths that might be notable. Thinking that I only saw one mud crab, I decided to have some fun. Who knew that the other FIVE had already surrounded me? Level 20 Fighter/Thief and mauled to death by mud crabs. Or my favorite. Checking out the view on a very tall cliff. Goat comes up and bumps me off. Kitty doesn't fly that well.
  12. I have no problem with fried goat. Ever since one decided to "bump" me while I was looking down on the edge of a rather tall cliff. (Cats can do many thing, but flying ain't one of them! But they do bounce nicely!) But I generally leave the wildlife alone. All but mudcrabs. I had one chase me across hill and dale! Even whirlwind shouted to get out of range. Took a nap. Dratted thing was chewing on my tail!
  13. Aside from the bad case of "if it's ore, it's mine!" and a bad case of "Ooooh! Butterflies!" (even in the middle of a fight with a dragon!) and "shouting" behind all the guards backs, I don't have any bad habits. That and I now have a Khajiit two handed Ginsu master (after about the 6th character, all 2/3's through the game), oh, and maybe making and enchanting Iron daggers. (I did steal a steel dagger and enchanted it, but I couldn't sell it. Oh, and all the bards are singing about some Ragnar 's red head rolling on the floor. ) Does Shouting poor bunnies off of cliffs count? Nope, no bad habits at all. Gotta go, thought I saw a butterfly over there! "Leave me alone, you dratted Dragon, that butterfly is MINE!"
  14. Working on spoilers here, but Astrid was the signature on the bottom and it was from the Assassins Guild/Dark Brotherhood. (Mentions Dark Rites and all that.)
  15. Has anyone killed the assassin sent after them yet? I was doing some midnight luna moth hunting and saw a shadow move at range. Sniped him with about 4 arrows and then checked out his corpse. Had a nasty letter saying that I was marked for death.
  16. My fangs are quivering in anticipation at the release of the CK! heh heh. We vampires shall enjoy the mods being planned.
  17. Weird is correct unless you take into consideration the concept of "assaulting through" the situation. Having said this, I shall stop spamming this topic (since it is about "Do you own any firearms" and not about weapons you have used/tactics/etc.) lol Now, for my part, I do not own any weapons. I "react" at times to certain sounds/movement and feel that it would be best if I did not have any near me at home. (But I am planning on picking up a decent Beretta and leaving it at the gun club I would join.) lol
  18. Never made sense to me either, but most of the time we ran mounted patrols with two man teams from each Humvee for foot search. We were heavily undermanned over there, so we did not really have the manpower to cover everything. But the turret guns had to be manned. Go figure.
  19. <br><br>200 rounds of .223 caliber (5.56 mm) ammo weighs around 6.2 pounds, add a decimal point (for a total of 10 drums) and you have a full load out. I carried between 4 drums on me (and one on the weapon) and the rest in my battle pack which I carried on me most of the time. Didn't have to move very fast most of the time, but then again, I got used to it quick. Total battle load ( most of the time) was about 120 pounds of added weight to my frame of 220 pounds. (Including water, night vision, etc.) When I mounted the Humvee to slide into the turret, the whole vehicle would rock in the direction I came up on. Depended on the mission. I have pics of me carrying my full load out and usually a .50 BMG on my shoulder just offloading the Humvee from a mission. It was not easy and it took its toll on me, I will admit.<br><br>To antonkr: Actually, it was the way we did it. If you were qualified on any machine gun, you got stuck in the turret for patrols. For dismounts and assaults, I was on the ground like the rest of the grunts with a backup (who carried an M4) in the turret. The longest "march" I did in country was a night insertion that was 5.72 klicks from our drop off point. Got to the village, reconned it and then boot scooted to a Humvee pickup point 1 klick out.<br>Here is a funny story, I tripped going into a house in a friendly village. It took 4 guys to pick me up and place me on my feet. lol<br><h4><a href="user/1025971-antonkr/" title="View Profile"><br></a></h4>
  20. The only real problem with that is the idea that wormholes can be affected by gravitational influences. Opening one up too close to a large gravitational well (such as a sun or a black hole) could be a bit interesting. On a side note, "too close" would probably be maybe 2 AU. or so. AU being Astronomical Units (distance from the earth to the sun) which each AU is ~ 149,598,000 kilometers or ~ 92,955,877.6 miles
  21. I used to carry an M249 with 2000 rounds (on me) with a M9 on my thigh and running either a M2 .50 cal or a M240B in the turret of the humvee. (But when we deployed, they took away my C4. What a horrible thing to do to a Combat Engineer! lol)
  22. Just a quick question. Does the "rat gag" still exist? (i.e. first fighter's guild quest always deals with rats. In TES 3 & 4)
  23. Granted, now all high level characters and death knights BECOME the dreaded sparkle pony. I wish to see a quantum tunnel!
