Jones813
It'd be nice if you could build a motel in the larger settlements that would warrant one, as it would give visitors and traders a place to sleep while they are there. I searched around nexus and didn't see any mods that do this.
Gruffydd
For mine, I just built the motel, popped some appropriate signage on it, and then didn't assign any of the beds to my "resident" NPCs.
montky
@jones813an interesting idea!there have been a couple in the past which added a craftable bed and bench combo, which only really functioned properly in Boston Monument...though it is a headscratcher why something similar has not emerged elsewhere. |the red rocket spa and resort mod project also had that as a feature of the settlement -an 11 story tower above the red-rocket, with ~10 story sub-basement which linksRed Rocket to under-sanctuary to V111...the rocket exhaust was actually the car-wash feature to the red rocket servos,so it becomes a paddling-pool/water feature at many Red Rocket settlements| -----after things like 'the enclave returns!" mod andthe "bounty board" mods are more completed,It would be great to turn to more craftable/ambient things such as a motel -it would be a great revenue stream for the settlement -instead of scavenger stations for all the settlements, you could have the trade caravan alt b craftable place, and motels or 'adult entertainment'. you can charge caps, bullets, or scrap for the night.the powered rooms, such as inside the 'city limits', are more.15 to 30 caps per night, more in the 'swanky' settlements like Diamond City, Institute, V81, Covenant, or Red Rocket Spa and Resort, etc.the 'outside the city limits' (under raider tents etc) or dodgy locales are cheaper. as low as 1 cap a night... I'm thinking the Arena where Cait is from would be closer to this end. Warrick Farmstead would also be fairly low on the list.what you can charge guests per night is a function of:i) location itself,ii) number of features (ie, trading emporium etc),iii) player charisma level/speech level No weapons may be brought into the city limits at any time for any reason whatsoever - unless permitted and cleared at entry. They will be stored at the sherif's locker, and returned to you on exiting the settlement.unarmed brawls after a game of caravan or blackjack.. like FONV. This then lets you have Ambient quests/recurring ones such as"evict the squatter" or"a robot rents a room...""find the missing hotel guest""I've been mugged!" sidequests,or "returning lost property" etc.maybe, even restoring things like the Boston Common tour-bot or the Thoreau house tour hehe. -----I think having a buildable object as a hotel is definitely do-able, as it'll be just a store that generates money, and instances of 'tourist' etc. having more features like ambient quests arising if you build the motel object at the settlement, that'd be trickier, though hopefully pro-modders would team up eventually to see that materialize!
