julflo
I used quite a few mods on my first attempt to play the game, but after about 25 hours in I started getting CTDs (in Sleeping Giant Inn and Ivarstead, to be specific). I believe the culprit was Immersive Armors, so I uninstalled it and started a new game. Now Skyrim crashes on the road to Whiterun (from Riverwood) instead, although the sound effects stutter and delay immediately before the game closes. This is my load order sorted with LOOT: Skyrim.esmUpdate.esmDawnguard.esmHearthFires.esmDragonborn.esmUnofficial Skyrim Special Edition Patch.espRSkyrimChildren.esmApachiiHair.esmApachiiHairFemales.esmSMIM-SE-Merged-NoRiftenRopes.espWICO - Immersive People.espWICO - USSEP Compatible Patch.espWICO - Immersive Character.espRSChildren - Complete.espRSChildren_PatchUSSEP.espTanning And Smelting Experience.espVivid WeathersSE.espVivid Weathers - Extended Snow.espVivid Weathers - Extended Rain.espAmazingFollowerTweaks.espImmersive Citizens - AI Overhaul.espRelationship Dialogue Overhaul.esp *Also using Achievements Mods Enabler and Re-Engaged Reshade (reshade only version). My specs are dated, but my settings are medium just to be on the safe side, despite the game auto-setting everything to high/ultra. Currently playing on a Win10 x64, GTX 850M, 2GB VRAM, 8GB RAM, i7-4702MQ @ 2.2GHz laptop. I don't believe the specs are causing the CTDs since I played over 200 hours of Witcher 3 on high settings with no crashes. The mods I'm using shouldn't be conflicting from what I've been able to find, and I've cleaned everything that needed cleaning. Any tips? pathtopower
Start a new game. Do a clean save once you are out in the world map. Preferably install alternate start so you don't have to waste anytime to get to begin testing since the intro is very annoying and time wasting. Begin this experiment to replicate the ctd you mentioned in the ctd zones to see if this is a mod issue or a save corruption issue. Should you see absolutely no problem. Then its mostly do to save corruption caused by a mod that began a snowballing effect where at the start it might have changed something in the meshes in the cell zones somewhere during your gameplay and has rendered your game prone to ctd. Did you install any meshes that changed the ground, plants, the trees, the water, the sky or the animals textures? Those mods do not add any plugins in the loadorder to turn those off via uninstalling em and check the zones again.
