Skybound Watch Pass - instant CTD

Trying to access Skybound Watch Pass (North-East of Helgen) from north or south entrance, results in instant Crash to Desktop.

 

I've been following the Recorder Mod, collecting her files, and one is placed at Skybound Watch Pass, southern tower. Having collected the file, I decided to explore the tunnel pass. On opening the door - instant CTD.

So I tried the North entrance. Ditto. The game didn't even pause to say good bye.

 

I ran everything through SSEEdit, but the only conflict was very mild, with ELE a lighting mod, and I can't see that would affect the place. I tried taking out ELE and also Recorder from the load order - no change to the CTD. I tried starting a new game, same result.

 

So I stripped ALL the esps back to the basic game ESMs, started a new game - still get CTD at either entrance, or when using the coc code to move inside the pass.

I then stripped back textures - still no luck. Every attempt to enter this dungeon results in instant CTD.

 

Given I can't get the dungeon to work even on the most basic new game load - is this a CTD caused by the recent Bethesda patch? Has anyone else experience of problems with this particular place?

 

I'm out of ideas. If anyone might please check out if it works OK in their game, the codes are:

 

northskyboundwatchexterior01 02 or 03

skyboundpass01 for the interior

southskyboundwatchexterior01 02 03 or 04.

 

If it works for you, then I have a nasty bug!

PS - I would offer my load order, but given the place doesn't work on a new game I doubt anyone would want to trawl through my normal game.

Update - I could not face using NMM to track this bug down.

 

Please ignore the posts - I've gone off to use MO2 and rebuild the game.

MO2 is a million times easier to use tracking faults like this. Well...I might exaggerate...

I know I'm late to the party but I'm going through the exact same thing right now. Both entrances, instant CTD. I've already ruled out ELE. As in I removed ELE, started a new game and still CTD. I also have Billyro's Weapons installed and it also uses this cell for placing in his weapon Sunbeam. He also adds a nordic table, a light source, and a floor candle. I'm about to try to remove Sunbeam and those other few items and see if I crash with no conflicts going on within this cell. If you ever have this problem again, or if you know the solution, please let me know so I can fix it or, we can try to dig a little deeper and find out what's going on. Thanks for posting !

Here's my update. It's basically the same as yours. I CTD on either entrance of Skybound Watch with ZERO mods influencing this cell. I tried removing Billyro's Sunbeam along with the table/candle/light source that he placed down along with the one edit that the USSEP patch adds. I think it was a DG_"something something" light bulb from USSEP. I also removed all texture and mesh replacements (too many to list) and still the same CTD. I'm giving up and rebuilding. Avoiding Skybound for now.

Thanks for posting. Hey bad luck. That's what I had to do in the end. I gave up and rebuilt the game. I think there must have been a dodgy mesh inside the cave. I never did trace it. Now when I start a new game I use the console command TMM 1 so I get all the markers up on the map, and I go and test loads of places.

Since then I've been through Skybound and it has been fine.

 

By the way, I've use Mod Organizer 2 ever since that and had no problems. I'm wondering if NMM's methods of installation were part of the problem.
