wbird
Hello all you experienced FNV mod users and authors...having learned the hard way from FO3, I'm working out a plan for FNV mods to be included in my first play-through. Yes, I don't even have the game yet and I'm working on a mod list and load order! I'm planning on buying the forthcoming FNV complete edition (with DLC's). Can anyone comment on my choices and my tentative load order? Any obvious no-no's here? Definites: 1. New Vegas - latest patch from obsidian.2. NVSE: http://nvse.silverlock.org/3. FOMM for nv: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=369014. (this may be in FOMM, so not needed: ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37004)5. Western Sky - Weather and Atmosphere: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35497 - note to self: do not use FNVEdit MasterUpdate with FNV. What was essential for FO3 mods, causes a lot of trouble with this game and many of its mods. Maybes: - Clean-Deluxe NV- Mission Mojave - Fixing up New Vegas- New Vegas Bounties (I and II) ??? Alternates: - Nights are darker: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=44834 (do not use the timescale changer version) I'll follow up with my success or lack thereof, and what the problems were, after everything is installed. This might be a month or so, so there's plenty of time to poke holes in my plan or make suggestions. Thanks all!

Jeoshua
Fonger, you're smart and a valued member of the community.... but just... no. Don't use NMM. It doesn't have half the power that FOMM does and it's not out of Beta. --- I would say "yes" to your maybes. Clean-Deluxe NV is of course mine and I'm flattered you're considering it. It doesn't change the spirit of the game, only the clutter. And I use it with no problems whatsoever. Mission Mojave I would also say yes to. There are too damned many objects and statics that are wrongly placed in the game, leading you to stop about every three minutes and thing "WTF, why can I look through that into a void". Mission Mojave stops about 99% of that. New Vegas Bounties I and II are awesome quest mods, to be sure. They don't cause too many incompatibilities and are very fun to boot. I do recommend them. --- As far as weather, look into Project Reality MK I instead of Western Skies. If you have a decent machine it's really recommended. All it's features are configurable so if you don't like, say, the Radstorms, you can switch them off. Also, Mod Configuration Menu should be on your list, along with uHUD and oHUD
wbird
I'm not sure what NMM is...nexus mod manager? I am currently managing FO3 mods through the old version of FO3 FOMM and was planning on running 2 FOMM installs separately: one for Fallout 3 and another for Fallout: New Vegas. This is a gray area for me however....obviously something I have to get sorted out before I even more on to installing the mods proper. Thanks for feedback! Jeoshua, your mod looks like a quality product...definitely a strong maybe, along with Mission Mojave. There were so many silly things like that in FO3 that I just lived with, i'd really like to do without the issues in FNV. Procrastination pays off once again! wbird
OK then, Project Reality MkI it is! I missed this beauty because searching for keyword 'weather' doesn't bring it up. 15. The only gripe so far is Project Reality 'desert storms' look really bad, but you can disable that in the control menu for that mod (haven't seen the 'radstorms' yet). By Comparison, Xephi's Weather Mod 'sandstorms' effect for FO3 was much superior. The Project Reality rain and storms are really great though, and everything else about that mod generally.
