Bullseye83
Hi guys, Hope somebody out there has experienced this one..... My old rig: Q9550 @ 3.7 Ghz4 GB DDR2 RAM @ 1166 MHzHD6870 1 GB Played Skyrim at high\ultra 1920x1200 16xAF 2xSSAA + a shitload of mods. Mostly outdoors I got 30-40 in day times (Outside Riften, 20ish) New rig: i5-2500k @ 5.0 GHz8 GB DDR3 @ 1600 MHzHD6870 1 GB ( I know, it's kind of a bottleneck :P, but my second card just give me headaches once enabled in Skyrim)MSI Z68A-GD55 Same settings as before, but now I'm lucky if I reach 30 fps.... 10-15 is not unusual... WTF !!!!!??? The only thing I can think of is my Windows 7 installation. I did a fresh installation to my blank SSD with a different mobo. Story was I had ordered an Asus board with my i5, but had to RMA it as it turned out it didn't support my GPU. So now, with the new MSI board, I just plugged in my SSD with its "old" windows installation and updated all drivers for the board GPU etc. Do I really need to reformat? 3dmark 2011 is giving me a healthy score of P-8500 in crossfire and P-4400 in single gpu mode. HellsMaster
Have you tried the CPU thingee mod and/or the 4gb LAA patch?
Bullseye83
Do you mean that SKSE dll thingy? yeah, it was downloaded when released, thanks though (: I'm not using the 4GB patch anymore as patch 1.3.1 took care of that.
HellsMaster
are you using a ENB settins with SSAO? that kills FPS
Bullseye83
I do use a set of ENB settings, but no SSAO. Anyway, I ran it all ok the way it is on my old rig. It makes no difference running Skyrim dead stock either, with all mods ini tweaks etc disabled. Also tried a reinstall of skyrim to no avail. :/
Dominionz
if you didn't do a fresh install after switching MoBo then I highly suggest you do. Lots o problems can creep up from previous drivers and whatnot not just with games but in everything.
Bullseye83
I know, it's just that I hate reinstalling. Anyway, Disk has now been formatted and will install win7 shortly. If this does nothing, I think I'll just put my old gear back in, lol . Edited January 11, 2012 by Bullseye83
