ahoang519 Posted January 10, 2012 Share Posted January 10, 2012 Is it me or is the Skyrimnexus page starting to get flooded full of people posting their own settings for ENB/FXAA and their savedgames? I'm personally getting sick of them since they're not really what people come to Skyrimnexus for and they don't really count as mods per se. I'm not saying the site should block them, but how personal settings should be kept purely personal. Just because a user thinks it looks pretty, doesn't mean other people will. I come to the website hoping to see someone crack the code for multiple companions, a fix to the input lag on the keyboard, new quests, etc., but instead we're being bombarded everyday by these EMB and character saves. cecil101 Posted January 10, 2012 Share Posted January 10, 2012 There are currently 2 seperate catagories that house these types of tweaks/ mods. They are "saved games" and "visuals and graphics". They can be filtered out so you don't get them comming up on advanced searches. I think they are properly seperated and catagorized. Even though I personally do not use them. Rennn Posted January 10, 2012 Share Posted January 10, 2012 A few of the ENB settings are good, like the optimized ones that actually add new rendering data in the form of .fx files, but those are few and far between. Saves and 90% of the ENB settings mods are useless. They're what happens when somebody wants to consider themself a modder but doesn't actually want to work for it and *gasp* learn to use blender, or gimp (both free, btw). I was going to post something like this but I didn't want anyone to flame me. :P Yeah, it seems that every time I come back to the Nexus (which is, like, 10 times a day, easy!) there are maybe four or five actual mods and 10 ENB/FXAA settings things ranging from "so dark you can't even see! It's amazing!" to "I made the game look like Adventure Time threw up". I have my own ENB settings that look pretty fab to me, but I wouldn't feel right sharing it as it's not exactly like I did anything other than blindly change values (and I mean blindly! I had no idea what half of them did). I mean, no offense to the folks who contribute them - it's more than I do - I just wonder if, maybe, some of them might be sharing something just for the sake of sharing it rather than actually feel as though they've something truly decent or useful to offer. :unsure: Edited January 11, 2012 by horrorview Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
