Imperials not really an option

Dont mistake all the stormcloaks as being racist, infact they are not for the most part. They are nationalists. They want their land, their home for their people, They are tired of being pushed around by the Empire, which from what I've seen in Skyrim, is nothing more than a Thalmor puppet state. Yes of course some of them like some of every group, are infact racist. However do not forget that in the Elder Scrolls world, race determines nationality still, and thus is hard to determine the difference between the two.

There was a time when that was the case in the real world as well, and you and I may think of such things as racist, but in reallity it was not, it was Nationalist.

If nation and race is the same, than nationalism and racism is the more or less the same too. I don't think there actually are much of "nations" in Tamriel anyway. Also in real world nation is a relative new concept from somewhere 1700 onward. There is no defined citizenship I'm aware of in Skyrim, so there is not much of a nationality.

Windhelm definitely segregates people by their skin color, fur or scales, giving them less pay, less rights or less protection, just because of their race. So by all means this is racism. Free-Winter is the only stormcloak I met that actively opposes is, and is thus an honorable men. No surprise he is made Jarl of Windhelm once you win the Imperial Campaign.

Right you could argue that it is the same, however I would say that the distinction is that Faction A dislikes/hates Person 3 for being a part of Faction B. How do they know they are a part of Faction B? because Person 3 has scales, and to be from the homeland of Faction B, where most everyone is part of Faction B, is to have scales.

Its more so that it is the common method of determining what you are in the Skyrim game set I would argue that if you had sigils on every ones shirt for which faction/nation they are, meaning those UnNords who live in Skyrim and claim it as their home would have a sigil of the kingdom of Skyrim, you would see less of what to us as a more "civilized" people would perceive as racist, and the distinction between nationalist and racist would be far more clear.

To try to put it simply, they hate the place, the power, the views, not the skin.

As for the Skyrim Thalmor war, well the Empire has become a Thalmar puppet now, so in essence, they are at war.

I sided with the Imperials for the simple fact that with the added power of all the provinces (even my home of Black Marsh) the empire could push back the Thalmor and live peacefully, Ulfrid and (Personally) Skyrim are selfish to not think of the rest of Tamriel but alas it is but a game.

Most everyone, or everyone? Thats the big difference. Yes in case of sigils its less, because you can chose your sigil. You cannot choose the color of your skin, if you have fur or scales. Thats the big difference of racism vs. other forms faction relations. Legion or Stormcloak, is for example a sigil, and not race. I met a lot of non-nords all over Skyrim who live as perfect normal citizens in their society, some who even got a say in things, so I don't buy your "race equals nation in skyrim" argument at all.

And finnaly when Empire would be conquered into Thalmor , Skyrim would be an ideal trade partner for Thalmor. For example food from cyrodiil for raw materials and mercenaries to control slaves in High Rock and Cyrodiil + the fact that thank to dragonborn there is no ruler of Empire the conquest would be cakewalk

*Thwacks Feanoro with the stick he picked up off Krosis after killing him at only level 13 just 5 minutes ago*

Okay enough with the real life comparisons already this thread is starting to get offensive.

Thanks for the advice btw.

Then you should really pay closer attention to things in Morrowind Oblivion and Skyrim. Its very clearly the general rule of thumb, hell even the character creation in Skyrim tacs you as being from your racial homeland because of the race you choose.
