Kroekr
Did you upgrade to Windows 10 since 2014? If so you will have to make some changes. What they are, I haven't a clue since I still have 7 and don't trust 10.
Alehnblivion
I have Windows xp installed, unfortunately. However, a few hours ago, I tried Crash Fixes, but, even though I activated the proper option, I couldn't have an error report after my CTDs. In your opinion, if I try to uninstall and then reactivate all the mods with NMM, is it possible for me to obtain some benefit? Kroekr
Make sure that when you uninstall everything, all of the files that came with those mods are actually removed. I have had several mods not being totally removed when uninstalled.
Alehnblivion
Yesterday I removed and then reinstalled all the mods. Nothing changed. My opinion is that it is a PC problem. If you have an interesting idea about pc problems that usually determine this, please let me know.
Project579
If you are still using Win XP you probably have a pretty old PC i assume?
Alehnblivion
Yes, but it is a quad core and has always worked perfectly with Skyrim. But I think I should format this pc, because it has been 5-6 years of never formatting
Project579
you should try installing win7 on it because win xp is no longer supported by anyone.
Alehnblivion
Projects579, I've clicked on your link and noticed an intriguing mod setup for Skyrim! :D I've installed few mods. Can I ask you an opinion about the load order? Loot has created this order and, some months ago, everything worked ok with it.I'm not going to put the list under "spoiler" because it is short: - Skyrim.esm- Update.esm- SkyUI.esp- Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Interiors.esp- TakeNotes.esp- Footprints. esp- High Level Enemies.esp- iHUD.esp- (unchecked) Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Major City Exteriors.esp- (unchecked) RLO - Major City Exteriors - No Guard Torches.esp- WetandCold.esp- Convenient Horses.esp- SeeYouSleepByMadmole.esp- SkyrimURWL.esp- Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Dungeons.esp- Cloaks.esp- 1nivWICCloaks.esp- 1nivWICSkyCloaksPatch.esp- Immersive Patrols II.esp- Chesko_Frostfall.esp- WATER Plants.esp- RealisticNeedsandDiseases.esp- WATER.esp- RND_AnimalLoot.esp- RND_USKP-Patch.esp- Realistic Lighting Overhaul - Minor Cities and Town Interiors.esp- SplashofRain.esp
Project579
I made that load order without using LOOT for obvious reasons, you can follow this guide to manually adjust your load order: https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/753253-only-you-can-prevent-forest-fires use TES5Edit to check for mod conflicts and adjust the load order accordingly. your load order is anyway really small so you won't probably have any problems. Another way to fix even more compatibility problems (that moving plugins in the load order won't fix) is by using a TES5Edit Merge patch and a Bashed patch. Alehnblivion
Update: I've uninstalled Skyrim (it was on "C"; IMPORTANT = My game is not the Special Edition one), then re-downloaded and re-installed it via Steam on a different hard disk ("F"). Then I've given the new "Skyrim" folder the name "NewSkyrim", and pasted my old "Skyrim" folder to "common", in order for it to become the one used by my system for gaming. After that, I've told NMM that "Skyrim" was on "F", and used Loot to place my mods in their usual order. Final result: my dear, modded, old Skyrim (the one which had always worked), has started a new life on "F". Problem: I've then launched the game and... usual CTD! 30 minutes ago I decided to do a last attempt: installing a new version of SKSE. So I went to the website, and what did I discover? SKSE doesn't exist for the classic version of Skyrim anymore (it only exists for the Special Eidtion)! And what if a guy has only the classical version? He can't play a modded game anymore?! I read on a website that the Special Edition is a sort of dictatorial command. My idea. My modded Skyrim doesn't work anymore because Steam has, without my permission, sort of updated my Skyrim to the Special edition version, and now the old SKSE and other things don't work anymore. What do you think? If things are like this, I hate Steam: it is like my games are not mine... they decide to update, they decide everything! While my idea of "mine" is something under my control, something that I can protect, hide...
