Making quests and dialogue with the CK

No doubt in my mind that youll be able to make your own quests with the creation kit. And since many of us dont have the means to pull top-notch voice actors out of our pockets, any new dialogue will have to be delivered through text, like we did in oblivion.

Dialogue and general subtitles would have to be checked, but i'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to make some characters speak in subtitles and others to not. I'm thinkin there has to be a script out there that reads: if this character is speaking, then 'enable subtitles', but not for the whole world, only for that character. Anyone have any thoughts about this? Has this even been attempted?

i posted this already, but i might as well post it here too.

I talked to Gstaff, an administrator for bethesda fourms, i told him about the Lip file generation error and they shouldn't have the same problem with the creation kit, and the fact that this problem was here ever since the release of the second version of the Construction Set.

he said "I shared your feedback with the rest of the team thanks for that note" that means they will fix that problem for skyrim's CK and we will finally be able to make lip syncing, no need to thank me guys, just did what i had to do

I think we should probably put a VA sticky where users who can offer their voices for mods can gather, and those in need of a voice actor simply make a request via PM. I've got some experience and I'm willing to lend my voice to any mods that need it, and can handle writing/editing dialogue too.

That is a good call, when the CK is released I will be up for lending my voice to those who need it, I know I will need some VO down the line.

I love that idea.

But I'm gonna have to be the hard ass here. Whoever's offering their services should set up some sample of their voice acting, I'd hate to knock anyone down who dreams of being a voice actor, but if I'm gonna have to listen to dialogue over and over, the voice just has to.... not make me cringe when I hear it.

Not commenting on your voice Majik, never heard it, and I'm sure you've got skillz.

On a serious note, thank you.

If people don't report it, nothing gets done.

Just to throw it out there...I know from experience there are literally hundreds of professional actors out there that are able and willing to record audio for a serious project. If you're needing them to record on their own that number will come down a bit, but there is still a large pool of talent.

We put out a casting call on a couple of casting websites, looking for pro voice actors for a non-union project, were very clear it's an unpaid project, etc. and we've received over two hundred responses. Skyrim is a big deal so even the pros are willing to get involved if the project is legit and shows merit.
