ramzahn
Hi everyone! I expect this question to be classified as _very_ daft.Is there a way to actually place items into all those display cases. I haven't found a way. The way I see it is that one can only open a display case not use it as a container. Thanks beforehand...
madman132
No, the Display cases are for Display Purposes only. If you dont want a house mod and the Skingrad House doesnt have enough storage for you, download one of the All in one Cellars, like "Sanctuary Subterraneus". You may go from the Skingrad Cellar to the Anvil Cellar, which has plenty Containers. A Display case with a container would be a nice Idea for a Mod. Or just a normal non respawning Chest under each Display case. With something like that, you could use the Display case ase some Kind of Label. Display case with a Daedric sword -> there i have my Daedric Swords stashed. Display case with a Leather shield: Here is my enchanted Light Armor. Display Case with a Glass shield: Here is my unenchanted Light Armor.
bben46
Open the display case by pressing the space bar just as if it were a chest. Then, drop the object you want to display on the floor. Then use the z key. put your mouse cursor on the object, you should get a hand, press and hold the z key, maneuver the object with the mouse - It is very awkward, but it works. ramzahn
YES! Surely. The [GRAB] key 'Z'. I had really forgotten about that. Never knew what it was there for. Never used the thing. Thanks. Thanks again. Now there will be trophies for sure...

Thanks again. Now there will be trophies for sure... to much trouble....I just throw everything into a cupboard or chest or even the floor. I sell a lot of stuff....I haven't got the "colect a whole set of........" yet so if I am not going to use it I sell it. If I had the time zI would so I could have a whole lot of stuff on display. To bad someone can't do a MOD to handle display stuff like the woman who stuffs the animals for you at the castle. Lawrence
Vagrant0
The problem with display cases is that items placed inside them can often go missing if you havn't been to your house in awhile. This is because the game occasionally unloads cell data (and everything that is changed within that cell) when it needs to make space to load new cells. This is a process which is seperate from the 3 day (default) respawn time, it is related to how the game can occasionally refresh a cell, or a whole town back to its initial state if enough time has passed and the player has done enough things far away from that town. This was noticed mostly by people who were using SI due to them going through most that realm before ever going back home. But it can still happen in the standard game if you go too long without visiting your house. The only other way to prevent it is to refrain from placing anything in equipment stands, or display cases, and use actual containers (ones you activate) to store your stuff. Containers will only refresh if they have been set to respawn, unlike cells. If you don't believe me, start a new game, go to one of the side inns you're never going to visit again, mess up the place, then go off to complete the main quest. When you return to the inn, it should no longer be messed up as the cell has been completely unloaded by the game. Messing up areas where you pass through multiple times is not a fair test since every time you return, it refreshes the information (which is why going back to your house occasionally can prevent this from happening). Lawrence This idea felt naturally to me too. That would be nice and sensible. On the other hand, to really display complete sets, like the lovingly detailed ivory set for instance, it would be more appropriate to have other kinds of display furniture. Maybe even a statue that can be made to wear it.
