faifh
So much posts concentrated on the weak parts. I guess because of all the hype created by their marketing department, reality is then more a setback to us instead of a wow effect. So letss forget about the hype and all that, and highlight what we liked by actually playing Skyrim! Please remember to use spoiler tags for points that might well spoil. I'll start: I mostly liked the free class system, you are not confined to predefined classes like most other RPGs. I found the voice acting by large to be rather well done, they got them some quality actors for most NPCs. Many NPCs do have character, just often enough not enough interaction dialogues matching a varity of situations / quest states. I liked that most factions are no longer mutually exclusive like the fighter and thieves guilds used to be in ES. Okay stormcloaks and legion are by their very being of opposing each other. Might have enjoyed to have the possiblity of being a double agent up until a later point until you must decide. Many characters are quite okay animated, dragons are well animated. You are really free what to do next, instead of many RPGs who have a very limited area where you can quest with your current level The magic of playing Skyrim held a few days feeling really cool all, until a bit of the polishing fell off, when you look behind mechanics, plots and a few holes and discover its just a game after all. I liked sovengaard as well Edited January 12, 2012 by faifh
faifh
I liked the possibility to legitimately buy houses, instead of just using random empty ones, like many other RPGs do. For most engines this isn't so difficult, you wonder why so many RPGs miss something that most players love. I like how you no longer can put your stuff on a random main place in a city, like in morrowind where I piled all the stuff just on the streets. ModelV
The Dynamic Classless system. Its the most advanced character creation system Ive seen in any RPG. People say its been "dumbed down" I say its become user friendly. Ive never played any other TES game but every time I read up on the old class system I think ".....this is so ******* stupid...". Im sorry but to me it just seems way to overly complicated and really not that flexible at all. Admittedly Skyrim's system has some implementation problems though. The combat system: Fun. Plan and simple. I havent really messed with magic too much though. In fact my favorite characters RP a magic is evil mentality. FordPerfect
Favourite part? Has to be the trailer with Skyrim Stan. 'Fus Ro Dah!' Other than that I like the return of Dwemer ruins and the generally much improved dungeon designs.
Wraithofdoom
I like Winterhold (not the city the hold) since its so artic, it feels like you've reached the end of the world you feel so lonely and lost in the heavy snow storm its an awesome feeling, specially with the realistic lighting mod at night and the Inmersive Hud mod (ie: pitch black nights in a snow storm carrying a toch around without a compass). Other than that i love most of the voice acting, the combat animations, magic is way more fun too. I dont like the fact they completely erased classes, since it gave a sort of identity to your character, but anyway this thread is for the good things. Lets see... I like the daedric quests a lot more this time, at least those i've done. Most of all i love the freedom and the fact that no quest has a timer. WildDragonfly
I'm a simple person, so mostly I enjoy travelling from quest to quest on my horse. I like finding random things out in the middle of no where, whether it be a dead adventurer, an odd pile of bones, a lone horse on the road, cute little villages, or a quaint little shack. I guess I just love the exploring aspect of Skyrim. I also enjoy the different dialog options that you're given to really get into your character, Persuasion, Bribing, Intimidation. I mean if Ultima Online can incoperate this into its design in 1998, you would think game developers would jump at this. Even Diablo had a Chest that was yours. Not exactly a house, but on the right track. What they still need is random events where things get taken and you can hunt down a thief or pilferer that took an item you set or stored at a specific house or non-house location. Kind of like the thugs who hunt you down, but you now become the thug. Edited January 12, 2012 by Brandy_123

Brandy1123
Wraith, it might get annoying, but really, what else is there to do with all our accumulated treasures and trinkets? I don't mean to have an open house where the enitre underworld of Riften politely allows themself entry to your hovel and ultimately your entire fortune, I meant just a random encounter where an item gets lifted, a small quests starts and you hunt down the perp.
