Keyboard doesn't work. Help needed.

I play with a controller but wanted to try and change the name of a character with the "enablenamemenu" console command, but my keyboard doesn't work in the game. The only place I can get it to work is when naming a character. The mouse works fine though.

 

Anyone know what the problem could be?

Try changing to keyboard in settings, before loading.

I'm guessing the controller blocks keyboard use.

 

There must be a method to change names with the controller, for consoles.

I expect that blocks keyboard, but not mouse.

yes first change the settings under controls to keyboard/mouse ( Note : you can only change the settings when in main menu before clicking on continue or load save option ) then you will be able to use it.

I forgot to mention that I play on PC, sorry.

 

It's not that I can't change the settings from controller to keyboard. It's when I do it (before loading the game as you've stated) it's only the mouse that works. The keyboard works fine since I'm using it right now and oddly enough I can write the character name when making a new character (when in controller mode), but I can't do anything with the keyboard. Only the mouse works. Really wierd.

 

Edit: I tried changing to mouse/keyboard and the restarted the computer. That doesn't seem to work either.

What keyboard are you using? IIRC, there's a known issue with certain Razor ones. (Actually, the issue is with Razor software.)

I use a fairly cheap Logitech keyboard. I'm not at home right now, so I can't check which model it is.
