broadfin
OK so I am seriously considering just using an multitude of console commands to try and make this as close to a reality as possible. So what im suggesting...Is a different type of balance with the two armor types. If im strong enough to wear 500 lbs of dragon bones on my body. Why do i not get the maximum efficiency out of armor made from chain mail or glass or some other type of light armor. It makes 0 sense if you really think about it. I think the armor balance should go like this. if you put skills in heavy armor your skills should be mirrored in light armor.. now this is where it gets tricky and im more than willing to be told im wrong, stupid, and my ideas are poorly thought out... So lets say you don't care about heavy armor at all. You only go Light armor.. you only put perks in light armor... there would be an extra bonus in mobility and speed. For example if i go heavy armor and add perks to that skill i get the equivalent of that perk in light armor as well. and if i were in a situation where i decide i need one of my light armor sets i would get the bonus in armor perks and so forth and i would have a moderate movement and sprint speed increase because my body is literally hundreds of pounds lighter...Now as an alternative if someone were to put points into light armor only. You would get a much greater movement speed and honestly i think it would be cool if the sprint speed was increased a significant amount.. im not saying like unrealistic ninja speed where its so fast its hard to follow or resembling like anime shows where they move in flashes... i just mean run really really fast. Also a major perk would the ability to jump HIGHER! in oblivion/morrowwind this skill was determined by USE which in my opinion is how it should be.. if i spend 30 min trying to jump climb a freaking shortcut to the top of a mountain "instead of just following the path like a sane person would do" i should be rewarded with either a stamina boost or preferably the old way where you got an increase in athletics and acrobatics skills(aka move faster/jump higher) but these skills would have no perks just slight increases over time and levels but once maxed out would be really useful in many situations and also really cool to jump higher and farther...again im not saying get stupid with it but a little bit of tweaking can go along way in this game..... Honestly im sure to make this balanced correctly would require someone with better math skills than myself. so if there are any experience modders out there that would be willing to answer a few questions for me ...please inbox me Also please tell me what you think of this concept...also if there is a similar mod already available with this concept please lmk because i did a search and came up empty
NinjaWarriorPoet
I keep thinking that they really missed it there. I think there should be armor, and athletics (speed, evasion, hand to hand). Heavy armor would just use the armor, and armor skill, unarmored would use evasion, and light armor would be 50/50.
